A former member, Wichita State, lost at home 62-61 to Cincinnati and lost a chance to clinch the AAC regular season championship. They had 3 shots in the last 10 seconds. Too bad so sad.

Probably at least 6,000 in attendance. After 5:00 Loyola out to a fast start leading 9-4.

4:00 left Loyola still leading, up 27-22. Fayne with 8 to lead the Redbirds while Loyola has 3 guys with 6 points. It??™s been almost 20 years since the last time ISU has won the conference tournament while this is Loyola??™s first chance.

Loyola led 36-27 at the half and now lead 43-30 with 18:09 left. ISU opened the scoring with a 3 but Loyola has run off 7 straight points

Looking like 6 straight losses for ISU in the MVC Championship game as they are losing to Loyola 51-34 with 13:00 left

ISU is taking a lot of bad shots, and shooting poorly (32.6%). They have scored just 36 points and the game is about midway through the 2nd half.

Yarbrough, their big game player, has just 6 points, 1 rebound, 3 fouls, and 4 turnovers. Evans is having a bad game, too. He is just 2-9 from the floor, and 1-6 from three. Tinsley is playing OK, but Madison Williams has been invisible, and is scoreless. Fayne has 10 points, but even he is just 4-11 shooting.

Now with 11 minutes left, the score is 53-36.
Box score for the Loyola Chicago Ramblers vs. Illinois State Redbirds NCAAM game from March 4, 2018 on ESPN. Includes all points, rebounds and steals stats.

Loyola is the only team that looks like they know they have to win this game to get to the NCAA.

6 of the 8 Loyola players have at least 6 points as they are leading ISU 53-36 with 11:19 left.

7:58 left and Loyola leads 55-38. Yarborough trying to go 1 on 1 a lot and not being real successful as he has just 8 points and 5 turnovers and has 4 fouls.

It??™s been 33 years since Loyola went to the big dance and right now it??™s looking like they will have to bring their dancing shoes as they lead ISU 62-47 with 3:17 left

And that one NCAA appearance in 1985 under Gene Sullivan was their only NCAA appearance in the last 50 years! Prior to that bid, their previous appearance was back in the glory years of Loyola basketball in the 1960's (1968 )!

As poorly as ISU has played, and as confused, disorganized, and inept as they look on offense against Loyola, there is no chance they can come back and win this game. I am not sure how they can look this bad for a team that at times has looked like the best offensive team in the MVC.

                              a couple observations...

-too much hotdogging by ISU - they dug their own hole missing wide open point-blank layups because they chose to try a highlight-reel slam dunks but missed it - or they jacked up a three without even looking for a better shot..

                              -Dan Muller vastly outcoached....
surely they have seen 100 game tapes of Loyola and yet they continually misplayed them as Loyola made the extra pass to a wide open player

-Bradley clearly played Loyola better than anyone - so a solid argument can easily be made that we are the 2nd best team in the conference...

-we heard so much about ISU's freshmen and how they'd be making such an impact by the end of this season...
BUT - Clarance never got off the bench and Bruninga is 0 pts, 2 rebs, 0 asst and 0 stl or blk

-they hyped ISU as an NIT team...
seriously?? I think Bradley has a better chance- ISU has 15 losses, RPI in the 80's and 0-5 against Top 50.

-now you got Keyshawn Evans taking out Richardson for no clear reason- prob accidental...
