Decatur MacArthur is hosting their Regional and Sectional

-Decatur MacArthur plays Taylorville HS at 7pm Wednesday February 28 in their opening Regional game
Taylorville wins with their shooting & is coming off a game where they just made 15 of 18 3-pt shots


If they win, they will advance to the Regional Final and likely face Springfield Southeast again on Friday March 2 at 7pm
(Springfield SE will have to first play & advance past the winner of Decatur Eisenhower vs. Clinton)

If they win, then they advance to the Sectional (also hosted by MacArthur) on March 7 & 9 with MacArthur Regional winner facing the Mahomet-Seymour regional winner (on Wed. March 7) then advancing to the Sectional Championship (Fri. March 9) against the winner of the Paris Regional/Rochester Regional.
The Supersectional will be in Springfield Tuesday March 13.

Taylorville made a run and hit several 3-pointers - closing the lead to just one point
but MacArthur pulled away and leads at halftime 32-25

Winner will face Springfield Southeast on Friday at 9pm

But only 3 minutes left and MacArthur still holds a 9 pt lead

to win 70-59 ...despite Taylorville played very hard & going crazy from 3-pt range...

Moline plays Rock Island tonight -- both team having to bus to PEKIN in a snowstorm!

The other two teams that would have had to bus to Pekin are Belleville & Quincy but - by agreement they moved the game to Alton...

People at Rock Island & Moline had wanted to try to move their game but...
Moline backed away from the agreement citing "bus uncertainty".

In Class 1A- Peoria Quest lost in double overtime to Okawville 65-64- Okawville returns to Peoria where they finished second in the state in last year's Class 1A final.
Class 2A- Deer Creek-Mackinaw lost a close on to Bloomington Central Catholic 47-46
Class 3A- Peoria Manual lost in 3 OTs to Sterling 81-78

So the only area team left is Metamora, who plays tomorrow night against Dixon in the LaSalle Regional.

For what it's worth-
There is an unusual discrepancy in the final score of the Metamora-Dixon game.
Media outlets and every twitter report are reporting the final score was Metamora 43 Dixon 36, which supposedly was the final score shown on the scoreboard-

It doesn't change the outcome, as Metamora advances to play Sterling on Friday at LaSalle-Peru HS at 7 PM.
But apparently the official final score the IHSA has recorded was 43-38, despite numerous other reports that it was 43-36.
