Seriously - this is not a joke...
they call it "Varsity Esports" and presumably they will offer scholarships for the best gamers and take on other schools just like real athletics do....
in time...real sports will be deemed too expensive and too dangerous - so one by one all other sports will be replaced by "esports" until they won't even need to travel or buy uniforms - they can just sit in their basements, wire up to the internet and play for the ENCAA National Championship online...
Will people pay to watch?? Will they buy beer & Cheetos and sit in their comfy recliners and cheer on their favorite E-athletes?
