Decatur MacArthur upset Springfield Southeast HS tonight 74-65. Springfield Southeast is the #1 ranked team in the state in Class 3A according to the AP rankings that came out this week.
Southeast is also the #1 seeded team in the Class 3A Decatur MacArthur state regional that begins Feb. 27. MacArthur is the #4 seeded team, but they will be playing on their home court.

Amir Brummett had 25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals, and Armon Brummett had 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Wow! Maybe Amir will have second thoughts and consider playing basketball instead of football.

How do they have 8 losses? Did both Brummetts not play at the start of the season due to still playing football or something?

it took them a while to mesh their parts and a few of the kids were coming off football - but they are now playing as well as any team in the state!

they are one bad call away from having wins over the #1 & #3 teams in the polls within a week apart

Don't know. Here is their schedule. They have played some really good teams. They've won 11 of their last 12.

MacArthur beat them at Eisenhower in a high scoring game 84-81 back on January 12. That game started MacArthur on a 9-game winning streak.

My buddy covers Macarthur for the paper in Decatur and has watched just about everyone of their games this year. All he ever says to me is how much of a steal Bradley is getting in Armon. He says that he and his brother are far and away the most athletic kids he??�s covered and Armon is the best ball player in all the Springfield/ Decatur coverage area. I know he doesn??�t have a whole lot of information around the internet as far as recruiting profiles and what not and I have not personally seen him play but I trust my friend and his opinion and it??�s got me very excited for him to play at Bradley next year!

I think you can feel pretty good about Armon if he considers him best in that area. That area has always put out good talent
