Illinois State leading Missouri State 23-13 with 4:36 left in the first half. Alize Johnson appears to be trying to show off for a couple NBA scouts who are at the game. He is launching an array of low-percentage perimeter shots and mostly missing badly. MSU shooting only 28%-

The Missouri State players who sustained the injuries from the team cryotherapy session over a week ago were both still out for tonight's game and the team is not saying how long they will be out.

In the game, Yarbrough and Fayne got 2 fouls and had to sit out the last 8 minutes or so of the first half, but thanks to Taylor Bruninga who scored the last 10 points of the half for ISU off the bench, ISU was able to maintain a 9 point lead at halftime-

Bruninga did not play the last game because of his recent struggles, and had scored only 2 baskets total in the 5 games before that.
He is 4-5 tonight. The 4 baskets he has tonight equal the total number of baskets he has scored in the previous 7 games combined.

Drake is shooting better in the 2nd half, and the game has gotten close.
SIU leads 54-53 with 11:38 left.

Illinois State is shooting well, and Missouri State looks totally lost and can't find the basket. They are shooting 30%, and are 1-18 from three. ISU opened a 25 point lead, and now leads 59-38 with 7:39 left. There is booing from the home crowd, and many of them have already gotten up and left the arena. Missouri State, which was picked to win the MVC, is about to fall to 5-6. Looks likely that the Fire Paul Lusk movement will pick up steam again.

For Missouri State fans, the game has mercifully come to an end. Illinois State picks up a road win, while Missouri State is looking like a Thursday night team in St. Louis. Alize Johnson is trying to do too much, and their other players have to make better decisions and get better shots. MSU is now the worst 3-point shooting team in the MVC.

2 games ago, Dan Muller told the press that he was going to shorten his rotation from 9 to just 8 players, but instead - in each the last two games he still played nine players...

gosh - had that happened in Peoria, the media would have gone crazy and called the coach a liar & dishonest like they did when our coach dared to change the starting lineup from what was expected on the day of the game

It was due to significant early foul trouble by several of their key players in the last 2 games.

Illinois State coach Dan Muller said he will cut rotation to 8 players, and go to 9 if foul trouble, for Saturday 9 pm home game vs. Valpo. Redbirds have been using 10 players. What players affected wasn't divulged.
