    Clayton Custer

good choices, but Elijah will break thru soon...

The media has been drooling all over Drake, Loyola, ISU, Missouri State ...since day 1
..I know there's a long way to go but...what if Bradley finishes 2nd - or heaven forbid, wins the Valley?
    Ya think anyone will notice?

Individual recognition is nice -- and I hope guys like Donte, Elijah, DB and other Braves soon get their share of it -- but 13 Strong is working for us. :-)

BUSONGWRITER has it right. A team effort with interchangeable parts trumps one outstanding individual most times. I like where we are with this team. I was thinking yesterday when we were bringing players off the bench time after time with little loss of performance that the ISU coach had to be wondering when this stops. This had to be his worst nightmare. Bar comes off the bench and scores a couple, then Nate comes in and lights it up. Then Stepo comes in and hits a couple of 3's Then we have 3 or 4 players with 3 fouls and it became a non event. Childs then fouls out and we keep coming at them. They even bottle up Brown so all he does is get 3 or 4 assists. How does one set up a defense for all that. I'll take this 13 man team over any one great player on another team. They have a lot of heart!!

The tfour top Newcomer performances this week (in my opinion) were:

          Elijah Childs 18 pts/7 rebs & 10 pts/10 rebs- total 28 points/17 rebs (his team went 1-1 but beat 1st place Loyola!)
Cameron Krutwig 13 pts/8 rebs & 13 pts/7 rebs- total 26 points/15 rebs (his team went 1-1 but lost to Elijah Chils)
          Milik Yarbrough 15 pts/8 rebs & 13 pts/7 rebs - total 28 points/15 rebs
          Kavion Pippen 14 pts/5 rebs & 21 pts/6 rebs - total 35 pts/11 rebs

I think you know how I favor for NEWCOMER of the WEEK - all four had good weeks, but seriously, the anti-BU bias has been pretty obvious to this point

Ryan Taylor had games of 25 pts & 32 points, and was 11-17 from beyond the arc! Timmer had 32 & 22

They gave the Player of the Week to BOTH Ryan Taylor and Reed Timmer
Kavion Pippen got the Newcomer of the Week - tough break for Elijah
