Our next home game is a week from today and we host LOYOLA....
-payback time & I sure hope we play well and put an "L" on their record!
(but first they have to play at Drake tonight and host UNI Sunday & we play at InSU Sunday)
WGN just gave Loyola some nice coverage and IT IS IMPORTANT for Loyola to be good and to get good coverage in Chicago!
It's important for the whole MVC and for Bradley's recruiting in Chicago.
BUT read this -
Some local guy at CBS in Chicago really rags on Loyola...
What a complete jerk - it is his job to cover Loyola basketball and yet he fabricates this ridiculous reason not to!
but still no official word on ISU's Milik Yarbrough's injury and availability for tonight at UNI
-
yikes- what is up with ISU
they are getting hammered early at UNI
it's 40-14 - ISU with 9 turnovers already and UNI shooting lights out so far
starters Fayne, Hein, Tinsley plus subs Bruninga, Gassman, Williams, & Clarance have combined for zero points so far!!
ISU getting Gerry Pollarded.

it's like watching 3-on-5 - no matter who Muller puts on the floor...
he always has 2 or 3 guys who can't play defense and can't score...but hey - he recruited them....
we've been hearing since September that they will be a whole different team when they get healthy - and they will dominate the Valley.
...well- now Evans is back from his shoulder, Hein is back from his knee, N'Diaye is back from his foot, Clarance is back from his foot
(heck, Dave Reynolds had Clarance projected as the starting point guard!)
..and even with all those guys back - they are worse now than ever...
barring an amazing comeback - this'll be two huge blowout losses in a row and 4 losses in the last 5

All MVC 9th round games are final-
Illinois State came back a little in the 2nd half, but still lost at UNI 83-72-

Southern Illinois won their 2nd in a row 82-77 over a tough Indiana State team-
Box score for the Southern Illinois Salukis vs. Indiana State Sycamores NCAAM game from January 24, 2018 on ESPN. Includes all points, rebounds and steals stats.
Valparaiso lost their 4th in a row, and 8th of their last 10. Evansville beat Valpo 75-65 in Valparaiso. Valpo falls to 2-7 in the MVC and are now in 10th place. Looks like despite all the hype and over-rated projections, they were not really ready for the step up to the MVC.-

Loyola wins another road game clobbering Drake in Des Moines 80-57. Loyola goes to 7-2 and they are all alone in 1st place-

not MVC but of interest - the Illini finally got a Big Ten win - beating Indiana in a game that was not pretty and Illinois almost blew an 8 point lead in the final 50 seconds!
They are now 1-8 in the Big Ten, unfortunately even with the win, still all alone in last place in the Big Ten.
Former Bradley recruit Freddie McSwain played sparingly for Indiana - and had 3 pts/3 reb/3 blocked shots in 13 min
also in the Big Ten - Nebraska's head coach Tim Miles (and assistant JIM MOLINARI) appear to be playing themselves OFF the perennial HOT SEAT talk...
With 6 wins so far, they are in a tight battle for 3rd place in the Big Ten with Ohio State (9-0) and Purdue (8-0) on top

Loyola now has four conference road wins, and has five home games the rest of the way compared to four for Bradley. That will make them very difficult to catch. Not impossible -- we can gain one game on them by beating them on Jan. 31 -- but very difficult. We have to start winning on the road. Soon. Sunday. And hope Loyola gets upset a time or two.
On the other hand, if Loyola runs away with the conference title, could they be playing their way into an at-large bid possibility? They are 17-4 and own a signature win on the road at Florida. Their RPI is still high -- around 60 -- but we know Valley teams can have RPIs in the 20s and 30s and not get a bid. I just wonder if a record like 26-7 would get any looks from the committee if the Ramblers lost a close one . . . say, to Bradley . . . in the title game in STL?Yajusneverno!

Maybe Dan Muller is reading our board?
He's gonna do just what we suggested here - he's gonna cut his rotation and stop playing the players who simply don't produce & don't play defense..
