  • TOP TEN Bradley Basketball stories of 2017

Well, finally a few GOOD stories to rank and really NO bad ones like we consistently had in the Geno era

Feel free to offer your own thoughts on which are the top BU basketball stories of calendar year 2017...

10- The excitement is back & building as Bradley is no longer the automatic doormat of the MVC and is generating excitement and even positive coverage!
9- Bradley picks up TWO key road MVC victories (at Evansville (1/4/17), Drake (2/25/17) - something exceedingly rare for the prior five seasons
8- Bradley finishes 2016-17 strong, winning 5 of their final 9 and when combined with the 2017-18 start- BU has won 15 of their last 22 games since Feb. 2017.
7- Bradley is among the LEADERS in the MVC in team defense, rebounding, and 3-pt shooting in both 2016-17 and in 2017-18
6- Bradley lands commitment from highly rated 7-1 prospect at SCS, Aristide Boya
5- Bradley land two impressive freshmen who play regularly in the rotation and are among the best freshmen in the league, Elijah Childs & Ryan Stipanovich
4- Bradley freshmen Darrell Brown & Koch Bar land a spots on 2016-17 MVC All Freshman Team
3- Bradley goes 10-3 and 6-0 at home to start the 2017-18 season
2- Bradley WINS an MVC Tournament game in March of 2017!
1- Bradley breaks all time records winning 10 games by December 20 in the 2017-18 season

    Honorable Mention:
-Wichita State leaves MVC - not really a Bradley story but it does alter our schedule going forward
-Braves alumni compete again and excel in The Basketball Tournament in summer of 2017
-Bradley freshman enrollment is skyrocketing - more recovery from the horrible fallout under former admin
-Player losses- Alex Foster, Jerome Merritt, Lou Griffith, Jojo McGlaston - but perhaps we are seeing "addition by subtraction"

A couple more I think are significant-

Bradley breaks records for academic performance and GPA for the men's basketball team.
Bradley now almost 3 years since the last player arrested.
