Former coach and current ESPN college basketball analyst Mark Adams has compiled this list showing the percent of non-conference games road games played by 15 of the 32 conferences in Division I, and the difference is striking-

@EnthusiAdams
Non-Conference % Away Games by Conference:
Big 12 7.6%
Big East 9.9%
PAC 12 11.4%
Big Ten 11.5%
SEC 11.8%
ACC 15.1%
American 18.4%
A-10 20.6%
MWC 29.5%
WCC 31.4%
MVC 35.1%
C-USA 35.1
MAC 35.6%A
CAA 43.2%
Sun Belt 50.4%
9:02 AM - 24 Dec 2017
So the top 5 "Power Conferences" average only about 10% of their non-conference games on the road. The MVC about 35%.
There are 17 more conferences not listed which I presume are all a higher percentage of road games.
By the way, if you have a twitter account and enjoy college basketball, especially mid-major college basketball, I'd suggest you follow Mark Adams (@enthusiadams)
