He was a very good player in high school at Chicago St. Rita HS. He had narrowed his final choice down to Bradley vs. SIU. He chose Bradley, but later it was revealed that the sales pitch from Coach Jim Les that convinced him to pick Bradley over SIU was a line that got a lot of media attention and generated derision from SIU fans. Referring to the quality of the education at Bradley vs. SIU, Coach Les told Rembert why settle for a Yugo, when you can have a Ferrari?
So Bradley won the recruiting battle, but it didn't really do them much good. Rembert was not as good in college as was hoped. He spent 2 seasons at Bradley, didn't play much behind stars like Marcellus Sommerville, Lawrence Wright, and Patrick O'Bryant, then transferred and played the last 2 years of his career at SEMO.
Rembert averaged 10 ppg/6rpg for SEMO, so he wasn't a total bust...and shortly after he left Bradley thinking he wasn't gonna sit behind POB, then POB has a great year (05-06) and declared for the draft and was gone anyway.
