I??™m looking to go to Des Moines for the Bradley Drake game in a couple weeks and possibly some others in the future. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting tickets to road games that have done it before? Does BU sell an allotment behind the bench or anything like that? Thanks in advance.

I have probably attended more road games over the past 30+ years than anyone who isn't employed by Bradley. For some road games, the Bradley ticket office will get a small number of tickets, but not for all road games. But the MVC has a conference rule that the home team must supply some tickets to the visiting team, and in the past that included a small number of tickets down low behind the bench, and a few more up higher.Originally posted by BUfan39 View Post

The only schools that sold out their stadiums, making it hard to get tickets, were Creighton and Wichita State. But with them gone, every other school has plenty of tickets available. I'd advise you to research and find which side and which end the visiting team's bench is at, and try to get tickets as close to the bench as possible. Some times, even if your seats are not real close to the bench, there will be empty seats there because usually not all are sold. In that case, it is easy to simply move down.
I can give you the website or the phone number for any school if you want to PM me, but usually it is easy to find the ticket ordering page on their basketball websites. Often, there is a link on their schedule page for tickets to each upcoming game.
For Drake, here is the ticket ordering page for the Bradley game-
I have been to Drake most years since 1980. Since they moved into the Knapp Center, I usually have purchased tickets in Section M, which is behind the Bradley bench.
Click on section M, and set the search for the number of tickets you want. It will then move to a seating chart for Section M that allows you to select your actual seat(s).
The other courtside sections- N, O, & P are not listed with any seats for sale, but in the last 10 years or so, every time I have gone there, those sections are always half empty, and nobody has ever seemed to mind when we moved to open seats in section N.
Since the Bradley-Drake game is a Thursday night (Thursday 12/28 ) during the Christmas-New Year's week, I would expect a small crowd at Drake and very few students. I probably won't be going this year, since we have family from out of town who will be visiting us that week, but good luck! -

Good food, and it's where a lot of Drake fans eat before the game, but I've always run into Bradley fans there, too. The advantage of eating there is that you can arrive early enough to find a nice parking spot on the streets near the arena, and walk down to Jethro's, then back to the arena and save the parking cost and make a quick getaway.
Jethro's was featured on the Travel Channel's Man vs. Food with their Adam Emmenecker Challenge (Emmenecker was the 2008 MVC POY when Drake last won the MVC).

I have not encountered that mostly because I always called Rick Gaa & he got me tickets (but he's no longer in the BU Athletic Dept.) or I just bought them thru other sources....
BUT that should be fixed...there should be SOMEONE at the BU ticket office who is designated to take charge and HELP any Braves fan wanting tickets at ANY road game.
