  • Another Big 12 team bites the dust

Texas A&M loses to LSU 58-57.

The Big 12 is now 0-3 in the NIT, and 2-3 in the NCAA. Only 1 team, Texas, remains. They will play NC State Sunday. That's a combined 2-6 among their teams in the postseason.
Compared that with the MVC- they are 2-0 in the NIT, and 3-2 in the NCAA for a combined postseason record of 5-2.

And some of the network geniuses said the MVC didn't deserve 4 teams in the Big Dance. I won't argue about Texas, they are good. But maybe was the rest of the Big 12 overrated?

Here are the rest of the scores for Saturday

The NIT resumes Monday. Both Creighton and Missouri State have 2nd round home games Monday--

I don't think it is just the Big XII, Big East, and ACC that are overrated, but here's a news flash...

The cognitive abilities and intelligence of the so-called experts on the networks is even MORE overrated.
These guys like Packer and Digger have exposed themselves as uninformed, not doing their homework, biased and just plain wrong as often as they are right.

I will not be able to get to a computer again until some time on Monday morning....so for all you on the board...

    GO BU!!!!!!!

      not correct

Well it depends how you define "good". That 2nd rate Kansas team beat texas for the big 12 tourney, and was co-champion. However we are young, and they just got screwed up. As you saw towards the end, it was a good thing the game ended when it did for you, they got it together eventually. However, too late.

No, these teams do have much more talent than the MVC, a lot more. HOwever they are not playing well. I think a lot of that is that they are mostly so young. Texas is blowing them away, however Texas is veteran. It is more a matter of mature teams winning, with so many of the teams that will win a lot of the games during the season, being so young (players leave early) that they are mentally not together for a do or did situation, season ends if you lose.

I assure you, you would have finished 4th or 5th in the big 12, no better. However at this time of year, the maturity is what counts.

UNC last year has veterans, as did Illinois. Both are gone this year. Actually Illinois is not young, just deplenished. However I assure you, both would tear you up in a conference season.

Still you could end up national champ with good draws. You can beat Memphis. And if you get Gonzoga, well you could beat them.

just don't get a big head

I hope you guys win it all. WS hates us, so it is hard to root for them. They hate us with a passion.

You beat us, right. However, you would never have done that in conference, you would have finished behind us. You did not see what we can do, becuase we were awful. Self thought we were worse than in our loss to Texas, and that was by 25. You beat us mentally, and we feel appart until the last few minutes. Keep in mind, we had 8 guys who played either nothing, or next to nothing last year. Kaun maybe played 10 minutes a game last year, that was our veteran of the bunch. But that does not mean they were not a great team, I think at this point a top 10 team if they played a long series of games. However in one stress filled do or die situation, they all wet their pants, and went home. That does not mean they were overrated. You would not want to face Kansas again. When Texas faced us again, the difference in point spread went 37 points in the other direction, and that was in Dallas.

EARTH TO JAYHAWK were not talking about that game anymore. It's done, we won and we won again. Right now we are going to the Sweet 16 and KU will be remebered as a great beginning to a nice run in this tourney for us. This year we were better when we met and that is that. Next year will be next year. The good thing about being a BU fan is that today was a great day again.

Yes that is right.......the Braves moved on and only worry about the next team Memphis..........of course you could team up with packer and talk about the great past........like maybe how good you've been in the last.......say 5 to 10 years and cry in your beer (with packer....nance......digger!)

Sorry the Braves only live in the NOW!

I think one interesting thing that Jayhawk said was that Bradley would have finished no higher than fourth or fifth in the Big XII. Well, BU finished sixth in the MVC. Isn't that kind of like saying the MVC is a deeper conference than the Big XII?

fish, you are not being kind to our beloved Bradley Braves.

Bradley did NOT finish 6th in the Valley, they finished in a tie at 11-7 with UNi for 5th place, but won the tiebreaker for the tourney seeding, and were seeded 5th.
But BU was one tiny game's difference from 2nd place, and clearly was one of the best 2 teams down the stretch.

I was going by the standings listed on mvc-sports.com, but yeah, I guess I did know we were seeded fifth in the tourney. I, personally think Bradley was the best team in the conference in the second half of the conference season-- I just wanted to point out an interesting implication of logic in what Jayhawk was saying.
