I really liked the updates that were posted about Valley Freshmen. Will we see more of those?

Tough loss for Drake. It would have been f=great to see the 10th place pick in the MVC upset the team picked 3rd in the Big Ten.
The MVC's leading scorer Reed Timmer (22.1 ppg) had a bad game. He was just 1-8 from the floor-

DRAKE looked good at times but loses by 1 point at Minnesota

DePaul is clobbering Alabama A&M (0- by about 25...on FoxSports1 - DII transfer Max Strus (from Lewis) was again their leading scorer

DePaul is a little better this year but what the he** happened to their predictions that when this brand new downtown arena opened, that it would draw thousands?

I know it's a mid week game, it's snowing slightly and it's a bad opponent...
but there are fewer than 100 people there in the entire arena. I know they will cite some ridiculous "paid attendance" figure, but there are definitely fewer than 100 there....the arena is completely empty!

DePaul's Max Strus is about the only weapon they have...
...he went for 33 pts on 11-19 and 6-12 from 3pt, scoring over half DePaul's points as the rest of their lineup teams for just 27.

DePaul's Max Strus proving he's one of the best players in the Big East-
he picks up one of the Big East's TOP weekly honors..

Villanova guard Jalen Brunson and forward Omari Spellman were honored as BIG EAST Player of the Week and BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for their performances in an 87-67 victory at Temple, the only Wildcats’ game of the week.  Each player set individual career scoring highs in the contest.

DePaul (14-13) just knocked off St. John's giving them a chance to finish above .500 for the first time in 12 seasons, and the most wins since 2006-07.
Senior Max Strus went for 43 points on 14-22 - he's averaging almost 18 ppg & 6 rpg but unfortunately will get lost in the media hype about the east coast teams in the Big East. Too bad he didn't consider an MVC team when he transferred - he'd have gotten the kind of media coverage as Ja Morant does & Alec Peters did.

Yeah, Strus turned into a decent D1 player, though he does get his points from the sheer volume of shots he takes (almost a hundred more than anyone else on his team). He only shoots 40.9% overall (would not even rank in the top 35 in the MVC among qualified players) and 34.5% from three (would not even rank in the top 25 in the MVC among qualified players).
If he was hoping to make it to the NCAA or NIT by transferring to DePaul, he has to be disappointed. Even though this is DePaul's best season in 13 years, they are still tied for last place in the Big East, they have the worst NET of any Big East team (more than 30 slots below the next worst team), they will probably end up with the league's worst record, and they have no shot at the NCAA Tournament for the 15th straight season, and barring a run of the table to the title game of the Big East, they have no shot at the NIT.
