  • MVC Player of the Week for Nov. 27

Loyola's Donte Ingram is the MVC Player of the Week, and UNI's Tywhon Pickford is the Newcomer of the Week-
The MVC’s current winning percentage in non-league play (46-16, .742) would be fifth-best in 111 years of MVC basketball.

The MVC usually does a great job of promoting the league and the schools in the MVC. But I have to take them to task a little here.
This weel's MBB Notebook release touts all the accomplishments of the MVC teams so far. And they tout the fact that the MVC is the #5 ranked conference in RPI. But amazingly, the geniuses at the MVC somehow overlooked the fact that Bradley's RPI is the 20th best in the country, which is a key reason the MVC is ranked 5th. There is not a single mention of Bradley's success so far or their RPI, which is the only MVC team with an RPI in the top 50. Plus, there is not a single mention that Bradley's SOS is also ranked 20th in all of Division I, also the only MVC team inside the Top 50 SOS.

Even our own local newspaper has a story out on the great success of the MVC so far...
but the writer is some guy from AP - who likewise must not know much about Bradley as he drools all over Loyola, Valpo & UNI but makes only the tiniest passing mention of Bradley. Loyola has a SOS over 300, Valpo has an SOS of 249 and has played multiple DIII's/NAIA and UNI is good, but they haven't beaten anyone with an RPI better than 148,
