Regarding MVC stats, you have to be impressed that Elijah Childs ranks third in the conference in rebounds per 40 minutes, and 12th overall despite averaging only 17 minutes a game!
Nice to see Donte fourth in rebounding overall. I hope he stays healthy and has the great senior year he deserves.
I have a feeling, even with Koch and Luke back with us, that Elijah's playing time is only going to increase.Yajusneverno!

They struggled the entire way against Manhattan!
Manhattan lead most of the game and this game was tied in the final 11 seconds- then Missouri State took the lead and a couple FT's sealed the final score at 69-65.
Missouri State is very lucky they are not sitting on a 3-game losing streak

Louisville is 14-42 (33%) but only 1-13 from 3-pt
SIU is 8-36 (22%) and only 1-12 from 3-pt
SIU turning the ball over a bunch
another interesting score - FGCU losing to Middle Tennessee 42 -21!! - hurting the MVC RPI...

is anyone else watching the SIU-Louisville game on ESPN2? Now 84-36
three things stand out besides the enormous talent difference...
-the announcers act like there's only one team in this game - they chatter endlessly and continuously about Louisville, Louisville, Louisville, etc...but barely mention who they are playing
They also seem to ignore that the stands are 1/2 empty!!
-the SIU fans definitely have a right to be a little upset at Barry - he clearly doesn't have them ready to play --
Louisville is playing a very simple, tight 2-3 zone and SIU looks totally lost and act like they've never seen nor played against a zone before.
-but even before they found themselves down by almost 50 points- the Saluki players are standing around, look lazy, making horrible sloppy, lazy passes and making no effort on defense...
Barry is making 4-man line changes but now he's just given up and knows he's getting skunked...
but what he needs to do is sit Smithpeters and the starters on their butts and play walk ons...nobody's giving any effort
edit-- LOL - one more funny thing...
at the end of the game when Louisville is up almost 50, on the last possession with 10 seconds left, SIU inbounds and rolls the ball slowly all the way to mid court 'til it almost comes to a standstill before picking it up (and then fumbling it) as if he's milking the clock try for a comback!!

Evansville is playing in Cancun...
right now the score is
Fresno State 28 - Evansville 26 at halftime
but here's an odd piece of news....
Evansville senior Solomon Hainna's juco coach just tweeted this...
"Thinking of my guy Solomon Hainna right now.
Unexpected turn of events has landed him in the hospital in Mexico.
Hang in there big fella."
Hainna did not play tonight and did not play their last game - - his last playing time was Nov. 16
There was one report that he had some sort of injury while warming up for their last game vs. Binghamton, altho
one other report stated he had an "undisclosed illness" - LINK
terrible.....hope he's OK...
the other two games...
Valpo struggled for a while with Samford but now has a comfortable lead 73-60 with 6 min to go but this game was pretty even until Valpo went on a spurt the last few minutes
Loyola's also been struggling with Mississippi Valley State - but now late in the 2nd half Loyola has pulled out to a 10 pt lead..

Bradley was missing 3 scholarship players last game but at least none were out with injury or illness...
every other MVC team seems to have the injury bug...
Evansville's RS freshman John Hall has only played a few minutes so far in their first 4 games but he's played over 10 minutes already in the 1st half tonight.. due to Aces shorthanded.. and foul troubled
