The MVC Player of the Week was Illinois State's junior guard Keyshawn Evans. He averaged 22.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists for Illinois State in a week in which it
went 2-1.

The MVC Newcomer of the Week was Loyola's junior transfer from Fairleigh-Dickinson Marques Townes. Townes averaged 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game as Loyola improved to 4-0.
