  • Bradley scrimmage today (Sat. Nov. 4) vs. UIC- Bradley wins 77-64

Bradley has a closed scrimmage today against UIC. Anyone with reports can post them here, but we may get little information, considering how secretive our staff is, and how they stick to the rules the NCAA has about publicizing results of closed scrimmages.

UIC has played one exhibition already against University of St. Francis (NAIA school located in Joliet). UIC won easily, 97-62.
    Here is the box score-

UIC shot extremely well, 61% overall, and 40% from three. 6'9" senior forward Tai Odiase was 10-10 from the field and had 21 points, 6'2" sophomore guard Marcus Ottey was 8-11 from the field for 20 points, and 6'7" sophomore forward Dikembe Dixon was 7-9 for 15 points. Ottey was 3-5 from three, and 6'2" guard Dominique Matthews was 4-8 off the bench from three, and he had 16 points. Starting point guard Tarkus Ferguson had 7 points, but he also had 13 assists. As a team, UIC had 32 assists, and 13 turnovers.
Here is the box score and report from their only exhibition-

UIC used a combination of speed and strength to blow past the St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints in an exhibition game for hurricane relief Wednesday evening at the UIC Pavilion, 97-62.

They have a solid top 6 or 7 players and could contend for the Horizon league title. They were picked 3rd in the official Horizon League preseason poll, but they received some 1st place votes.

The BU women play an exhibition game against Upper Iowa at 4:00 PM, so the men's scrimmage must have been much earlier.

UIC is picked a very strong 3rd in the Horizon, and got some 1st place votes
Individual stats will not be available - starters played exceptionally well

From what we hear, both teams played primarily their top guys, and played to win. Bradley held big leads throughout the 2nd half. They lead by 21 with 8 minutes left. Bradley shot pretty well, made their FTs, and defended well, but can play a lot better, especially on offense.
This will be a big confidence booster. UIC is a team with good talent, size, and athleticism.
