Mickey Pearson, a 6'7" 2018 forward recruit from John Hardin High School
in Elizabethtown, KY, that Bradley coaches were very high on.
He was offered a scholarship by Bradley back on August 1, 2017-

Then on October 15, 2017, he verbally committed to St. Louis-

He signed with St. Louis in the early signing period last November.

But he did not enrolled there yet, and has now requested and been given a release from his National Letter of Intent-

His other offers were from Bradley, Campbell, Stony Brook, Wofford, Robert Morris, St. Bonaventure, Ball State, Samford, Troy, and Eastern Kentucky.

In his tweet announcing that he has been released from his NLI, he said "I look forward to continuing my academic and athletic career". He does not say specifically where or what that means.

St. Louis was over the maximum of 13 scholarships with Pearson, so everyone knew one of their players or new commits was going to leave or back out.

There are rumors that Mickey Pearson's departure was a mutual decision. Head coach Travis Ford has six other new players who have signed NLI's and another verbal commit who was waiting for a scholarship to open for him. Plus there are rumors that Ford was possibly still looking to sign a grad transfer.
That's seven new players committed for next season for St. Louis, and maybe eight, in addition to Pearson, and all of them would have competed with Pearson for playing time. They will be back at the maximum of 13 scholarships for now with Pearson being released from his NLI.

Mickey Pearson is supposedly a qualifier. If so, he will likely be looking for a school with an available scholarship.
