After spending one season on the basketball staff at Northwestern University (2017-18 ), and one season as an assistant coach under Taveras Hardy at Loyola University of Maryland (2018-19), A.J. Guyton has left the college coaching realm, returned to his hometown of Peoria, and has been named Peoria Public Schools District 150 Director of Athletics.

Correct me if I am missing something, but I cannot find that the local newspaper has reported this at all.
A.J. was the coach for the Always a Brave team in The Basketball Tournament the last 3 years, and of course, he is a local basketball legend. He was the MVP of the Indiana University basketball team all 4 years he played there under Bobby Knight (1996-2000), and he was a consensus 1st-team All American and the Big Ten Player of the Year his senior season (2000). He is enshrined in the Indiana University Basketball Hall of Fame. A.J. played a couple seasons in the NBA after being drafted by the Chicago Bulls, then had a long pro career overseas. He has also been an assistant coach at ICC under Tony Wysinger, as well as head coach for the Central Illinois Drive (Premier League) and Bloomington Flex (Midwest Professional Basketball Association). He won the league in each of his 3 seasons coaching in the PBL, and was named Coach of the Year twice. A.J. also was an assistant coach for the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G-League before taking the job at Northwestern University.
