  • Wichita State's Landry Shamet has broken foot

Tough break for Wichita State. Last year's MVC Freshman of the Year and 1st team All MVC Landry Shamet of Wichita State was found to have a fractured right 5th metatarsal (the long bones in the foot) and will undergo surgery on Monday. This is a similar injury to the one he suffered in his left foot early in his freshman season in November, 2015, and was forced to redshirt and miss the entire season.
He is projected to return to playing in mid-November.

Another stroke of bad luck for Wichita State. 1st team All-MVC player Landry Shamet is not expected back until November at the earliest from his broken foot suffered in July, and now his teammate and also a 1st team All MVC player last year Markis McDuffie has a stress fracture in his foot, and is expected to be out until at least mid-December.
