thanks 16 - been waiting for some of the MVC teams to finally get their schedules out...

obviously ours is held up because the Bahamas Tournament is stuck in the mud

Unless SIU gets Nevada in the Las Vegas Tournament- their non-conference schedule has an awfully lot of really weak teams....especially the home games that appear to average RPI 320 or so...(using last year's RPI)

Yes, I know they go play at Louisville but almost all the rest from Jackson State to SIUE to Lamar to UIS and especially NC A&T (RPI 350!) are really weak...
...........but at least they get 8 home dates out of it...

I graduated from SIU in 1993 and was there during part of Rich Herrin's tenure. After him, came Bruce Weber who took the team to heights not seen since the 1966-67 NIT championship season.

On the SIU board, Barry Hinson is getting ripped a new one left and right for such ANOTHER lame schedule. AD Tommy Bell isn't immune from such treatment, either. Hinson is entering his sixth season as coach and he has yet to put together a challenging schedule, improve the team from a mid- to low-level MVC team, or take the team to a post-season tournament. Hard to believe he was named Coach of the Year just a couple years ago.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Bradley have more success and better teams than SIU in a couple years.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.
