The Basketball Tournament Midwest regional games Sat. 7/15
awesome - kinda sloppy in 2nd half and I got the idea a few calls were made to "try to keep the game close"...but our guys survived & advance!!!
Much better shooting the 3-pt shot today!
BOX SCORE - Cellus with 21 pts, Walt with 19, Randle with 21 - overall we shot 12-27 (44.4%) from 3-pt
The Marquette Alumni looking strong against SLU
So far, in the Midwest Bracket- not one single upset, the higher seeded team has won 11 of 11 games and is about the go 12 for 12
In the Northeast the higher seed won 8 of 12 games
In the South the higher seed won 8 of 12
In the West the higher seed has won 9 of the 10 games completed thus far
The final 16 teams are determined and the Always a Brave team will play the Scarlet & Gray (Ohio State alumni) next Saturday, June 22, at 12:00 Noon Eastern time (11:00 AM Central time) at LIU Brooklyn.
Check out the upcoming Watch ESPN schedule for Saturday, July 22, 2017 with details on how to watch live streaming games, series and films.
The attendance for the 2 days in Peoria was-
Saturday's attendance was 2,141
Sunday??™s attendance was 1,493
The Saturday attendance mark was a one-day record for The Basketball Tournament, and the 2-day total of 3,634 was also a record 2-day total for the tournament.

Unfortunate venue. I live local to Brooklyn and it would still be a three hour car and train ordeal to get there. TBT needs to work out something where they can play these games close to local fans. Maybe this is more about TV than live attendance but I have to think they would have a good crowd in Peoria next weekend if they were to do this there. Have to think there are plenty of open college/high school gyms this time of year that could take this on even if renaissance isn't available even short notice.
Always a Brave gave the home town crowd what they wanted as they advanced 92-81 against the Fort Wayne Champs and move on to the Super 16. Marcellus Sommervi...
Sadly, in the end, Zach Andrews' team (Team 23) did not get enough votes and barely missed inclusion in the WEST Regional.
As you know, his team made it all the way to the final CHAMPIONSHIP GAME two years ago and were the 2015 runnerup..
Also, Tyson Pickett and his Washington Generals - failed to get enough votes and finished just outside the top 16 teams in the SOUTH Regional...thus he also did not play this past weekend.
By: TBT Staff Marcus Hall scored 13 of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter, and Team 23 outscored Best Virginia, 22-9, in the fourth quarter to advance to… Continue reading 6 Team 23 75, 2 Best Virginia 67
However, they did play as the #5 seed in the West. They must have been chosen as a replacement for a team that dropped out.
As egib52 noted, Zach's team won their first round game 107-92 with Zach scoring 14 points and grabbing a team-high 6 rebounds in just 15 minutes of playing time-
they did not get in on votes so I missed their inclusion in the West--
anyway - Zach was one of their very best players in Game 1 - scoring 14 pts/6 rebs, then he barely played in their 2nd game
In the first game today, the Midwest region final, Scarlet & Gray, who beat the Bradley alumni by 9 points yesterday, just blew out the #1 seed Golden Eagles (Marquette Alumni) 81-56.
The Marquette alumni had looked very good and every bit like a #1 seed in their 2 wins in Peoria, but it was no contest today as the Ohio State alumni dominated in every phase of the game.
The next game, which is also on ESPN (at 1:00 PM Central) is the Northeast Region final between #3 seed Boeheim's Army vs. #4 seed Team FOE.
The West region final is at 3:00 PM Central between #4 seed Armored Athlete vs. #6 seed Team Challenge, followed by the South Region final at 5:00 PM Central between the #1 seed Overseas Elite vs. the #2 seed Ram Nation. These last 2 games are on ESPN2.
