the fact that he mentions every newcomer and says those guys are eligible but doesn't say a word about Ndiaye, suggests he may not be eligible...

Still another addition. Evansville picks up a transfer from Coastal Carolina of the Sunbelt Conference-
Artur Labinowicz, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard who played 2 seasons at Coastal Carolina. He played in 32 games and started 19 last season, and averaged 10.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 1.1 apg. He shot only 36.6% from the floor and 33.8% from three last season.
Coastal Carolina was 14-18 overall and 8-10 in the Sunbelt (8th place out of 12) last year.

Evansville will be getting a visit from a potential high profile transfer who is said to have NBA potential.
Sam Cunliffe, a consensus 4-star recruit out of Rainier Beach HS in Seattle, initially went to Arizona State as a 2016 recruit. He averaged 9.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg and shot 40.5% from three in the 10 games he appeared in his first semester there. However, he left after the first semester and transferred to Kansas. After sitting out the 2nd semester of 2016-17 and the first semester of 2017-18, he played in 15 games for Kansas last season. At KU he only averaged 4.9 minutes per game, and 1.9 ppg. Then 2 weeks ago, he announced he was leaving Kansas and transferring again. Because he already used up a red-shirt year after his transfer from Arizona State to Kansas, he will lose a full year of eligibility by sitting out another year. He will be eligible for the 2019-20 season and should have 2 years of eligibility after that.

After trimming his initial list of 15 choices down, he has 6 possible transfer destinations- Xavier, Grand Canyon, Pepperdine, Fresno State, Evansville and Minnesota.

...however, after trimming his final list to 6, he also eliminated the University of Washington which he had initially claimed would be his preference and which had pursued him strongly, and is left with 6 schools that are nowhere close to Seattle.

now this morning - one of the only remaining commits Drake has - Montrell Horsey - has reneged and asked out of his LOI that he signed last fall & wants to reopen his recruitment.

He reportedly told one of their east coast recruiting writers that "tons of schools" were interested.

But, almost 5 months later - he has finally found one that actually offered him a real scholarship offer..

Note that Delaware State (2-28 vs. DI opponents) ended up as RPI #351 - the absolute WORST team in all of Division I

I gotta think he'd have done better to keep his Drake spot...

Delaware State fired their head coach back on Feb. 22 and then went over 5 months before finally naming a new head coach on July 25.

They were the absolute worst team in Division I last year with an RPI of 351 (out of 351), and they lost their top 2 scorers and the only two that averaged more than 9 ppg.
They have a very short roster for 2018-19, and the only other incoming recruits for 2019 other than Horsey are a couple of poor-shooting 4 ppg grad transfer shooting guards (both shot under 30% from three) who played little at their former schools. So Horsey might have an opportunity for playing time there, but they will be one of the worst D1 teams in the country again this season.

As was predicted and reported here before anywhere else, star 2018 ISU recruit Abdou Ndiaye has been ruled academically ineligible for the 2018-19 season by the NCAA. He will remain in classes at ISU, will not be eligible to play or practice with the team, and if he clears the necessary academic hurdles, he will become eligible in the 2019-20 season.
The question is, how does this kid from Senegal, one of the poorest countries in the world, manage to afford the out-of-state tuition, fees, and other costs of attending ISU when he cannot receive scholarship aid? Somehow, they find a way to get it done at ISU (see Zach Coleman and Deontae Hawkins).

BTW, Illinois State University reports that the cost for non-Illinois residents to attend ISU for the 2018-19 academic year is $41,282

Also, ISU beat writer Jim Benson reports that ISU senior transfer from San Jose State, Jaycee Hillsman, who is redshirting this season, underwent surgery today for a hip problem and will be sidelined for 4-6 months.
