Not only is Shawn a great athlete, but he is a great person who gives back to the community.

I usually avoid reading the comments section of any article because a large chunk of the responses will usually put a negative spin on ANY story. However, this one had almost universal praise for Shaun and the Warriors.

It looked like his career was over in 2007. However, ten years later he's still playing and thriving for the best team in the NBA. He has to be happy with where he's at in life and his career.

That's true. It is hard to find anyone anywhere who ever has a bad thing to say about Shaun. Unlike a lot of NBA players, Shaun is happy with his role with Golden State and is loyal to the team. There are a lot of NBA teams desperate for a quality point guard, and I think he could have probably goten more on the free agent market if he waited.
He is still only 31 years old, has been in the NBA for 13 seasons (although he missed one season due to injury), and could play for several more years. He has already earned well over $40 million in his career, and his new contract will pay him another $24 million over the next 3 seasons.
Shaun is a quality person. We are fortunate to have had some of the most respectable pros who came from Peoria or Bradley (Hersey Hawkins, Anthony Parker).
