  • Brian Wardle on MVC Teleconference right now

Greg Lansing is kinda hard on his graduating seniors..."poor leadership", "they didn't step up and produce..."
Gonna use Brenton Scott at PG..
The "Valley Hoops Insider" guy Schroeder really likes to ask a lot of questions...

Porter Moser doesn't like the grad transfer rule - but it is the rule so he's going to try to take advantage...thinks his team is gonna be pretty good this year...
Thinks every team in the Valley has a shot at the top spots..

      Brian Wardle on now...

-asked to describe how his transition was from Horizon League to the Valley
..bigger commitment to basketball, tradition, fan, passion for basketball...

-anxious to renew conference battles with former Horizon conference-mate Valparaiso

-asked about new Drake coach Niko Medved - hints that Medved hasn't inherited much at Drake..

-this is the first year that doesn't seem like an overhaul....

-primary goals in recruiting for 2017 was to ad more athleticism on the front line and another playmaker who can score...
He feels like Lundy & the two freshmen accomplish those goals.
He's really pleased with the new guys - specifically mentions Ryan Stipanovich - smart, passes well...needs to get stronger

-really hard to predict the Valley but that is not important - we just need to take care of ourselves and invest in getting better...

-he encourages the fans of BU to "invest" because it takes resources to get better and recruit better.

When the teleconference was done - every one of the MVC coaches seemed to hype this coming year as the best & most wide open MVC race in history!!

I agree that is true, but it almost sounded like maybe they were all prompted to spin that same approach to get the arenas fuller!!!

Missouri Valley Conference basketball coaches are getting ready for the upcoming basketball season. The coaches provided an update on their preparations…

CARBONDALE — With Wichita State chasing a championship in the American Athletic Conference and Illinois State losing its top-two returning players, every men's basketball coach in the Missouri Valley Conference
