  • Ronnie Suggs is tranferring to...

    University of Missouri!!

New coach Cuonzo Martin is building a pretty good team there...
Ronnie won't be eligible until fall of 2018, but he could well have a couple All-Americans on his team...He will have Jeremiah Tilmon, Michael Porter, Jontay Porter and there's rumors more to come..

I have heard from Ronnie's mom that Coach Cuonzo Martin wanted Ronnie and recruited him to come play for him at Missouri.
    Good luck Ronnie!

So all of Bradley's transfers have found a new home:
    Lou Griffith- Lincoln College
Jerome Merritt- College of Central Florida
    Alex Foster- University of Albany
    Ronnie Suggs- University of Missouri

This is truly baffling to me. Ronnie could not get time here, but he will get time at Mizzou? I hope for his sake it works out, but if they are successful then his time there could be short as I am sure they will seek out higher rated prospects.

I'm happy for Ronnie but agree with egib52 that it is baffling -- as was his lack of playing time here all year. There's obviously a missing element we don't know, which is OK. As fans we don't have a right to know everything.

I wonder if it was known early on that Ronnie would transfer and thus Coach invested playing time experience with players who would remain. But that sure seems like a waste of a year of eligibility for Ronnie. Who knows?

Ronnie's landed at a great spot for him and his family, and I wish him all the best. I really liked his game -- what we saw of it his freshman year, anyway.

I can answer the 2nd paragraph- I spoke many times with the Suggs family during last season (they attended almost every game and sat near my seats). Ronnie had no intention of leaving at any time during the season, or even after the season ended. It was only after he had his post-season meeting with the coaches and was told his role was not likely to change next season that he reluctantly decided to leave. He loved Bradley, and he loved his teammates and the fans.

Recall that while Ronnie was in high school at Washington, Missouri HS, back on August 25, 2013 he was offered a scholarship by then Head Coach Frank Haith, and Ronnie accepted and committed to Missouri.

Unfortunately, Haith was fired the following spring, 2014, and Ronnie's Missouri offer evaporated. He was left with few good options, so Ronnie went to Vermont Academy prep school for a year, before committing to Bradley in April, 2015.

That has not been confirmed officially by U. of Missouri, but unofficial sources have presumed he will walk on for next year. I believe that is likely the case for now, though it might depend on their scholarship situation which has not been finalized yet. They currently have 12 players committed to scholarships for next season.-

I believe the walk-on information is correct.
If memory serves me correctly, Mizzou is down one scholarship under a self-reported and imposed incident.

Nick Zeisloft couldn't get playing time at ISU but transferred to Indiana and was a key rotation player...so ya never know...
Mizzou will be a young team for the next couple years and by the time he plays there, Ronnie will be one of their most experienced players.

Zeisloft started 30 of 34 games his last year at ISU.
