...wouldn't surprise me if they took a transfer since recruiting-wise, what's left for next fall?
DJ Williams just left the Illini and there's still a couple hundred other transfer kids out there

ISU is trying hard to land this kid, who somewhat unexpectedly just achieved good enough grades to qualify for D1, and now is receiving a flurry of recruiting activity from several schools-

seems their message board problem was unfixable...
the entire ISU message board was scrapped and they started over from scratch with everyone having to re-register and every old post and thread erased..
              Don't blame me this time...

Clayton would have been ISU's 2nd leading returning scorer and 2nd leading returning rebounder if he had remained with the team.
Now it is pretty clear that former ISU player D.J. Clayton, who left school with another year of eligibility remaining, did so for academic reasons. He is transferring to Louisiana State University in Shreveport, a lowly NAIA school.

How do you flunk out of ISU? His major was "University Studies", which is the equivalent of "No Major" and is designed to keep athletes who are not college material in school. All the academic and legal problems they've had (Clayton, Hawkins, Washington, McIntosh) it's going to have an impact on their APR.

well, the kid will still at least be able to finish college - so good luck to him...
he should dominate at that level...
I did notice when they announced all their academic success, there was a distinct absence of any mention about basketball

I hope he does, but I wouldn't count on it. If he had to leave ISU because of severe academic deficiencies, then there is a good chance he is not exactly on track to graduate, even with another year in Shreveport. They probably accepted him for his basketball skills, not to get him a degree.

DJ Clayton definitely claims a spot on the well-traveled list...
he's played at virtually every level of ball a kid can play for and he's still just now finished with his junior year in college...
He has played HIGH SCHOOL --> PREP SCHOOL --> DI@WKU --> JUCO AT PALM BEACH STATE --> DI@ISU --> now NAIA@LSU-Shreveport
Six different teams in the past 4+ years
By stark contrast, twelve of Bradley's players have played at ONE and only one school since high school - only McGlaston has multiple schools

Seems Dan Muller really loves these kids who change teams every year - Zach Lofton, Nick Banyard, Roland Griffin, Elvis Harvey, Jamal Samuel, Kaza Keane, etc..
they all played for more teams than you could keep up with...
Even their very best players & stars like McIntosh, Hawkins, Lynch, and many others - have all transferred - many multiple times.

I know he's an ISU guy but I ran across a little info on the followup of DJ Clayton who played last season & then left ISU and transferred to LSU-Shreveport.

To say he's doing well is an understatement....
LSUS is the NAIA equivalent of Iowa State and have numerous 4-year transfer kids from other colleges - six of whom are averaging double digits and four are averaging around 16 ppg or more!!
                          Clayton averages 16 ppg, 7 rpg, 3 apg, 2 stl, 1.5 blk

They are 7-0 and have already own TWO double digit wins over the #1 ranked team in NAIA !! When the new NAIA poll comes out Dec. 4, they almost certainly will vault past a number of teams.
