There are now reports that the MVC school presidents will meet on Monday, May 8, to hear reports from the committee that visited the campuses of Valparaiso, Murray State, Milwaukee, and Omaha, and to possibly make decisons on moving forward-

If the MVC presidents vote to accept one or more teams, there could be an announcement as soon as late Monday or Tuesday on the MVC expansion.

Even though I do not like Kirk Wessler very much I do agree with what he says in his article today

        Looks like Valpo....Etc.

Kirk Wesslers' article in todays paper was 110% on target and very correct. I believe that there are MVC schools( So.Ill., Loyola, No. Iowa, Ill. State, & Bradley) who can build their programs back to Nat'l. prominence. This will require stronger commitments from their administrations and A.D.s. The rest of the conference has no chance to do this IMO. The Presidents and ADs must establish minimum standards for MVC schools in terms of funding, scheduling, and home court size, etc. Without standards, these weaker schools will do nothing and will simply drag the conference down. Also, the Conference needs to establish a very aggressive program to go after upper Mid-Majors for MVC membership.

Question: Are Conferences able to kick out underachieving, unconcerned schools?

Each conference has their own set of rules. But most do allow for members to vote out a school under certain circumstances.
