UC-Davis' Chima Moneke is the CollegeInsider.com National Player of the Week!!
He averaged 18 pts/13.5 rebs per game & led @UCDavisMBB to an 81-67 win over previously undefeated Washington State
..and will certainly also be the Big West Player of the Week

The Lou Henson Award is awarded to the top Division I mid-major player each week.

UC-Davis zooms to RPI of 22 & SOS of 41 - both of which would be at the top of the MVC

Actually ISU's SOS is around 18 and UNI's is around 23.

Bigger question is why is the majority of the MVC 175 and higher on SOS?

In a few years Wardle will either be fired or leave for a much better job. When that happens will you guys stump hard to bring back Jim Les or is there too much bad blood for Jim to consider moving back to Peoria?
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10

There is no way he will ever coach at Bradley again. He is happy where he is. But if he did return, I'd guarantee the program would do well, and we'd see a lot of fans return and attendance numbers start to approach where they once were.

And I don't think Wardle would be so quick to jump to another job as you think. He is the second-highest paid coach in the MVC. He would have to become wildly successful and have a pretty high level offer to leave.

I thought he was easily the highest paid now that 3G is gone? Pretty sure he is.

                    there are reports that loyal donors at UNI are chipping in & helping out with paying Ben Jacobson and so his take home is $1 million/yr...(LINK}
and I doubt anyone else in the MVC is even close to that.

If Bradley has some success by this season's end and next year then Brian Wardle will be getting accolades as a successful rebuild specialist - taking Bradley from about as bad as a program can be to a success.
That will instantly get his name mentioned for other rebuild projects like DePaul or if needed - Marquette...

excuse me, ... an ISU guy questioning the rest of the Valley's Strength of Schedule..?
You guys got whole threads on your board about how weak your own coaches schedule

Jank scheduled like a p*$$*. There is no debating that.

HCDM schedules hard IMO. As hard as he can anyway. I like the games he goes after.

He doesn't win them all but he plays 'em. Since Dan took over I think the list of non-con schools is more than respectable overall. To name a few:

                        Louisville
                        Kentucky
                        Maryland
                        South Carolina
                        Ole Miss
                        VCU
                        St Joe's
                        Florida GC
                        BYU
                        Seton Hall
                        Boise St
                        Tulsa
                        Dayton
Northwestern--they bought out their scheduled return trip to Normal
                        Old Dominion
                        UAB

As for your reference to "coaches" plural.........only the ridiculous St X game in 2018 for HCBS has been loudly booed. at least that i can think of.

Northern Iowa head men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson has signed a contract extension through the 2024-25 season. “Ben has led UNI's basketball program to a place among the nation's elite during his nine years as our head coach,” said UNI Director of Athletics Troy Dannen. “At the same time, he has established himself as one of the nation's best coaches. a couple notable news items on Coach Jim Les & UC-Davis

they won last night for their 16th consecutive home win - the 6th longest such streak in the nation
(they have not lost at home since the 2015-16 season)

They beat the preseason pick to win the Big West, UC-Irvine, and they have 10 wins already - only the 2nd time in their DI era they have ever had 10 wins this early.

Coach Les picked up his 250th career victory last game
UC-Davis has the top RPI (63) in the Big West (& non-conf SOS 57) - that would place them at the top of the MVC in RPI as well
