That French Lick restaurant is not really Larry Bird's. He is not an owner, and doesn't have anything to do with running it. But the owners do have some kind of deal with him to borrow some of his memorabilia for display.

A lot of Bradley fans might remember that Larry Bird did own a restaurant and hotel in Terre Haute a number of years ago (Larry Bird's Boston Connection). I ate there several times on trips to see Bradley play Indiana State, and even stayed at the hotel a couple times. It had a lot of Bird's memorabilia and even a closed off area with a hoop and a section of the old basketball court from Springs Valley High School in French Lick. You could shoot baskets while waiting for your food. It closed about 20 years ago.

There’s a Malnati’s in North Pekin....

and even a Google search for Malnati's & Pekin comes up with nothing and a column in the PJStar about a year ago says there isn't a Malnati's anywhere close to Peoria -

Are you perhaps thinking of the "Rosati's Pizzia" that's at the intersection across from Fort's Toyota?
There really isn't much else in North Pekin so it would be hard to hide a Malnati's.

My mistake, I was thinking of Rosati??™s.

Portillos was packed around 6:30. Overflow parking reached into Kouris and the old Panera lot. Hope that doesn??™t cause problems down the road. I ordered the italian beef/italian sausage combo but only got the beef. Good stuff though and for a training day with 4 lines indoors and 2 outdoors all seemed to be running smoothly.
