    Fenwick lead at half 27-25
Fenwick's best player is A FRESHMAN, DJ Steward..
he's listed as a 6-1 guard but looks taller, leads the team with 14.5 ppg, 42% from 3-pt, 3rd on the team in assists

    We should offer him now

I agree, this young man is impressive! Maybe Coach Wardle and Coach Malnati can convince him to attend Bradley.

Tough luck for Malnati and the Fenwick team. They lead much of the game, and lose in overtime to a very good Morgan Park team.

You can call it tough luck for Rick but I call it something entirely different. They had an 11 pt. lead with 6 min. to go and Rick decided to let the air out of the ball. Bad decision. They had Morgan Park on the ropes and were doing anything they wanted against them. Rick will replay those last 6 min. for a long time. They had a very nice team but No reason to try and hold the ball against MP. How many times does it work. I'm betting It will be along time till next season for Rick.

Fenwick got that 11 pt lead when momentum changed via a trash-talking technical by Morgan Park
Personally, they should also eject any high schooler who gets T-ed up for trash talking..

Former Bradley player Rick Malnati just resigned as head coach at Fenwick HS. He has not announced any plans what he will do next. He is 58 years old, and was at Bradley from 1977-1981, playing for both Joe Stowell and Dick Versace.

One of my all time favorites. Every player should have his drive and heart

Great post! I remember Coach Versace praising the effort that Malnati put into the game. He was relentless.

The pizza places in Chicago are terrific. I think there are 46 locations.

I used to always hit those and Hooter's. Now we have Portillo's and Hooter's locally. Ill still go into suburbia often for Malnati's. Good stuff.

You guys are getting a Portillo's soon!

I visited Malnati's in Phoenix in January. They also have carryout store there and are opening a new full service one in Scottsdale. I miss the Malnati's that was at Sheridan Village. There was a full poster picture of Rick with Larry Bird that was signed by Larry "Rick, you never could guard me"

http://33brickstreet.com (their web designers must be the same people who do Portillo's web site)

**btw, Peoria Portillo's held their "soft opening" today - open only to invites guests and "dignitaries"....wonder how it went....
looks like the PJS was there, as they have some pictures of the active parking lot..

                              There’s a Malnati’s in North Pekin.

I’m no dignitary but I’ve got a couple “golden hot dog” tickets for training meals tonight. Get some Italian beef and meet Dick Portillo!
