  • Indiana State loses a player to transfer

One of the Sycamores' key reserves, sophomore Donovan Franklin is leaving and will transfer
he's a juco transfer but still has 2 years left, he even started on occasion, and averaged 4.2 ppg, 1.5 rpg
This now gives Greg Lansing an open scholarship to add another player for 2017

Most likely just the first of several changes coming at Indiana State. More players not coming back & staff changes too (some of us even hope Lansing is removed). Only if he could land another job because of 4 yrs buyout to send him packing & ISU is too poor to axe him. The AD's handing out these long term "auto roll-over contracts" need to be held accountable for them & suffer the consequences themselves when they become a detriment to the university..............can you hear me SIU.....Lowery, etc. and on and on. At least the new AD terminated the auto roll-over in Lansing's contract before it had rolled again.

tell me about it...we just got rid of a Prez & AD that did something similar, except they rewarded themselves with long term contracts despite incomprehensible incompetence, corruption & horrible performance.
It almost took threatening the Board of Trustees with a donor mutiny, plus we needed Ft. Knox to get them to clean house....and we'll still be suffering the FALLOUT well into the future...

A report that Loyola's Maurice Kirby is leaving and will transfer
He was a full time starter (26 of 31 games) and will be eligible immediately - tho his averages were not impressive

Incoming FR Krutwig would've started for Loyola this year.

A grad transfer - eligible IMMEDIATELY just became available that I would LOVE to see us pursue....altho I don't know how realistic our chances...

Elijah Brown, grad transfer currently at New Mexico - was "recruited there" and coached there up thru 2015 by OUR OWN assistant Drew Adams...
was playing in Indiana at Butler when transferred to UNM.
He grew up in Indiana, played AAU ball in Ohio, then moved to LA for the final two years of high school.

His father was an assistant coach with the Indiana Pacers and was head coach for the Cavs & Lakers

Elijah Brown averaged 19 ppg, 5 rpg, 3 apg

Most 5th year grad transfers, especially kids who are highly sought after like 19 ppt scorers at good programs like Brown, are looking to transfer to good teams who will play in the NCAA, not rebuilding teams with no chance of the NCAA tournament.
