This will be the 9th year for the CIT. Bradley played in and finished runner up to Old Dominion in the first CIT in 2009. Last year (2016), the CIT was won by Columbia, and in 2015, it was won by Evansville of the MVC.

There are no MVC teams currently listed.
Last year, the 2016 CIT tournament did not get 32 teams as was planned, and proceeded with just 26 teams.
After all 26 teams played in the first round, the top-three highest rated teams based on the Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings regular season rating automatically advanced to the quarterfinals. I suspect they will use the same format with 26 teams for the 2017 tournament, though their website is very short on information.

Wow!! Either the Valley is worse than we thought or members are wising up and deciding not to ply in the "everybody gets a ribbon" tournament. If you're not good enough for the NCAA or NIT, your season should be over.

I have always thought the same Vent. There are only 2 tournaments in my book.

The CIT started tonight (Monday, 3/13) with the first game-
Liberty University, coached by former Bradley assistant Ritchie McKay, beat Norfolk State 73-64-

Note the attendance of a whopping 574.

Liberty is also where Scottie James transferred, though he is sitting out this year.
Liberty goes to 20-13, and advances to the 2nd round of the CIT, though because their have a 26-team field, the top seeded teams will get a bye after the 1st round.
Also, they have no set bracket, and 2nd round match-ups will be named after 1st round games are completed.
