Well it might have worked. There is a nice dialogue on Twitter between Muller and the Ole Miss staff. Sounds like they are trying to make something work. Not a home run but its someone.

Could it be because of the Torrey Ward connection? Former ISU assistant killed in plane crash was also an assistant at Ole Miss under Head Coach Andy Kennedy for 5 seasons before coming to ISU. Kennedy was also an assistant coach at UAB in the late 1990's and he helped recruit and coach Torrey Ward as a player there.

Dan Muller is making headlines by getting on twitter and challenging any power conference school to come and play at ISU. He says the big boys dont want to play at mid-major schools. I totally agree!!! He is sending a message. Now all the mid-majors ( I hate that word) should jump on the band wagon and back him up. Also all followers should do the same thing ..just blow the roof off the NCAA committee. Maybe they will start to listen. Scheduling requirements need to be changed

Well, some vindication for those who think the 7th, 8th, 9th best team in the big east coast conferences are MORE deserving of an at-large NCAA bid than the co-Champion of a top mid-major conference...

check what happened to the ACC...

Wake Forest - who guru Lunardi had as a 12-seed - but some had even higher - and who got in just because everyone loves Danny Manning..

was the FIRST ACC team bounced (by K-State , who also probably didn't deserve to be in), then Clemson lost in the NIT!

Those guys DO not belong in the NCAA. K-State, Wake & others should have been dumped in favor of the best midmajor teams as at-large bids
