  • TCU knocks off Kansas

What a great game and Jamie Dixon is a genius...
TCU had to battle the #1 ranked team in the nation plus a couple unfriendly refs and beats Kansas 85-82

    This should boost Bradley's RPI!

It is a big upset, but rather meaningless overall. Kansas is the #1 team in the country, and though this could possibly bump them down to a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, maybe it won't.

TCU improves their record to 19-14. They were 6-12 in the Big 12. Unless they go on to win the Big 12 tournament, they are an NIT team.

some saying it won't even affect their #1 seed...
so if that's the case then why play the game - if Kansas is guaranteed, win or lose, that they already are locked into a #1 seed - then just default the game and avoid any chance of injury.
I think in fairness, a 1st round exit and loss to an 8-seed demands they drop from their #1 seed.

probably depends on what happens in the rest of the conference tournaments

I agree but that is the hypocrisy of the NCAA.. They favor the big boys. Money!! If that was Bradley they would drop them to 10 seed..Lol!! But I still enjoy watching Bill Self get beat. He usually puts together the best team money can buy

I predict Kansas will still get the #1 seed in the Midwest Region.
There is actually a logical reason why the committee will do this, regardless of the loss to unranked TCU that should have knocked them out of a #1 seed.

The NCAA Midwest Regional semifinals and Finals are March 23 & 25 in Kansas City, Mo. and the NCAA wants Kansas as the top seed in that group. Lawrence, Kansas is only about 40 miles from Kansas City, Mo. It is all about the money.

Davidson knocks off Dayton in their quarterfinals...
Seems everyone had Dayton in...but now they're sitting where ISU is...

                  but check out this comparison..
                  -ISU, 28-5, 17-1, lost Final MVC Tourney, Bad loss=USF, won 8/last 9, RPI32, NCSOS149, overall SOS123
                  -Dayton, 24-7, 15-3, lost in q-final A-10, Bad loss=Nebr, UMass, won 7/last 9, RPI30, NCSOS52, overall SOS66

I think Dayton and VCU are both in from the A-10, even with Dayton losing to Davidson. Rhode Island is sitting among the "First 4 Out" bubble teams like ISU.
Now those other bubble teams have to hope VCU wins the tournament.
