If he had been smart he would have moved on when the iron was hot. He has done nothing since Jake Odum graduated.

I respect Greg and like him - seems he treats players and fans well and respects the game...
Like all mid-major coaches it's a combination of being hard to recruit talented kids to a small media city plus kids sometimes just don't pan out or pull weird moves. Unless things have changed, tho, he's under contract until 2021, isn't her?

Greg Lansing may be safe for now at Indiana State, but here is an interesting development. He has worked for many years with a 5 year contract that had a yearly 1-year automatic rollover clause. So that ensured he always had a new 5-year contract each year. But Indiana State has cancelled that rollover clause, meaning now he has a fixed-term contract that has 4 years left and there will be no automatic renewal, making it easier to terminate the contract in the future.-

interesting that he would have any clause in his contract that can be unilaterally cancelled by the EMPLOYER without the agreement of the employee...

I know Da Coach, you have encountered - and even been offered such contracts, but it's not always very wise to signs such agreements, since as soon as the ink is dry, they have the right to cancel but you don't.

That is true, but likely those were the terms he had to agree with when they added that yearly rollover clause. That rollover clause actually benefited him much more in the long term, so that now instead of Indiana State being able to replace him, he still has a long-term contract that guarantees him 4 more years of being paid whether he's coaching or not.

well, sadly, Greg Lansing had Jake Odum's replacement all lined up...
until the kid reneged....and then went on to have an outstanding career elsewhere

can only wonder what might have been...
