Upsets are so hard to predict but if there were ever a year to see true "Arch Madness" this is it. I do feel like there's a good chance we'll see at least one major upset in the tournament this year. I'm just not sure which round it will come in.

Just about any game could go either way. I'l predict MSU and UNI on Thursday, Loyola, BU, MSU, and ILSU on Friday, Loyola, and ILSU on Sat, and Loyola on Sunday.

          Valparaiso Head Coach Matt Lottich:
"We've had conversations with some postseason tournaments. But we haven't gotten that far yet because we have to see how this plays out, then we have to have conversations with our guys."

For the record, Valparaiso finished in last place with an overall record of 13-16, an MVC record of 6-12, and conference-worst RPI of 178. Plus they average only 2,722 attendance at home.
My question is, what tournament would want them?

And Lottich supposedly said: "We've had conversations with some postseason tournaments."
How many tournament is he referring to? By my count, there are only 2 surviving postseason tournaments other than the NCAA and NIT, which he is obviously not referring to since they do not discuss participation with coaches.

It appears the Vegas 16 postseason tournament may be permanently dead. It started in 2016, was played at the Mandalay Bay and was originally planned to have 16 participants. However, they could only get 8 teams to participate in that first year, 2016. Then after trying to organize the Vegas 16 again in 2017, they finally cancelled it late, and suggested that it would return in 2018. However, there has been no announcement made by the sponsor (bdGlobal), there is no mention of the tournament anywhere on the sponsor's website, and even all the old pages referring to the tournament appear to have been deleted. So it looks like the tournament will probably not be back.

The CIT website has information about the 2019 CIT, which starts on Monday, March 12, so it looks like that tournament will be held for their 10th year-

And the CBI website doesn't look like it has been updated since the end of last year's tournament, but it is expected back in 2018.
16-team men's college basketball postseason tournament

And note that the 2015 winner of the CBI was Loyola. 3 years later, they won the MVC title, and are the favorite to win the 2018 MVC Tournament, and play in the NCAA.

Just my opinion, but I think this kind of more vague statement, "We're not planning on him playing Friday", is the kind of thing they'd say even if they thought he would be able to play. So let's not get too worried. This is why our coaches have recruited other capable point guards.
Wardle was on Greg-and-Dan show today. Still hasn??™t ruled out Brown, and made mention that today would be a big day as far as evaluating him. I honestly got the idea that he doesn??™t have an inkling one way or the other. The fact that he hasn??™t been ruled out 4 days after the injury is a good sign.... or crafty coaching.
              Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

I heard him on the Dan show also. I thought he sounded optimistic he might play.

Dan Muller said today that if Illinois State does not get into the NCAA or NIT, they will not play in the CBI or CIT.

Brown will play. Coaches do that. Psychological ploy by coaches. Just like Jordan Barnes wasn't supposed to play when Indiana State played Bradley but somehow he scored 13 points

Missouri State's Paul Lusk says neither of the cryotherapy-injured players (Scurry, Fofana) will be available for the tournament..
They have gone 2-8 since that incident disrupted the entire team...

Dave Reynolds just tweeted that Darrell is out of the boot and participating in the shoot around today. Feeling a little more optimistic now!

Great news on DB. Just hope he can move laterally to keep up with Drake??™s motion offense. Just one question though. I??™m at Landry??™s waiting for my food, for awhile. Is Bradley playing tonight? 😁
