Just speculating, but....
we currently sit in a 3 way tie for 7th place (5-11), with TWO games remaining...
and theoretically we could tie Missouri State, SIU or Loyola in W-L record cuz currently they all sit 2 games ahead with 7 wins

- BUT we instantly lose the tiebreaker to Loyola cuz they swept us

- and we also lose the tiebreaker to Missouri State - since even if we split the season series, they have beaten two teams above them in the standings (UNI & LOYOLA) but we have only beaten one (UNI) so we lose that tiebreaker.

HOWEVER - there is a remote chance that if we finish 7-11 and SIU finishes 7-11 (meaning they would have to lose to their final 3 games) and then ....
..we will have a win over a team higher than any they have a win over (UNI) and we'd win the tiebreaker (as defined by MVC) and finish 6th and stay out of Thursday!

None of that matters. The tiebreaker in the MVC no longer considers which conference teams you've beaten. It is very simple-
Tiebreaker #1 is head-to-head competition, which we would lose or tie with every other team except Evansville.

Tiebreaker #2 is RPI, which we lose to every other team except Drake

So no matter what happens, we lose every tiebreaker to all other teams we could potentially tie with to stay out of the bottom 4.

that's right - RPI is the tool now.... but just being hopeful...
but if we win out, we might still have a better RPI than Drake, Missouri State, Evansville & Indiana State..
