Increased construction costs and budgetary concerns have led Missouri State officials to formally withdraw as host of the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, University officials confirmed Wednesday.
MSU having to withdraw from hosting the 2017 MVC Track And Field Championship as they couldn't afford to fix up their facilities.
WSU will now host it.

also, the rumble is that any and all talk of firing Paul Lusk and possibly going in search of a new head coach - has suddenly dried up as they wouldn't be likely to find the money for the buyout.
At the end of 2013-14 Paul Lusk was rewarded for a 20-13 year (just 9-9 in MVC and a one-and-done CIT appearance) with an extension and raise.
So he's signed thru at least 2019 at over $300K/yr. (This source says $371,453/yr)
That means his buyout could be $700K or more....
Given their finances, and their need to cut back - expect to see Lusk at Missouri State another year or two...especially if he can finish strong...
and then, who would you replace him with in the middle of a budget crisis where you couldn't guarantee $millions would be available to go shopping?
Heck, they are 15-10! That's not a losing record....what gives....Missouri State has a history of firing winning coaches!
Missouri State hasn't fired a head coach who had a losing record since 1983 (the year they went DI) when Bob Cleeland was fired at 13-15.
Spoonhaur left to take a better position at SLU, 1995 Mark Bernsen was fired with a winning record (16-11), so was Barry in 2008 (17-16 and a career W-L at MSU of 169-117!) and the others (Cuonzo, Alford) left for better spots.

But then they also say
"If Lusk doesn't win the MVC tourney, though, then he could be on the hot seat after another disappointing regular season."
I am gonna stick my neck out and a make a couple predictions...
-Missouri State won't win the MVC Tournament
-Missouri State will still employ Paul Lusk - he is not a bad coach and has some talent. Lusk won't be fired.
-we will see evidence that more than just the ISU fans & Shocker fans want to see their two teams in the Championship game
-it'll get sticky but the loser of the Championship game (which will be ISU) will get an at-large bid
-and.. I think Bradley breaks out and gives ISU a scare on Friday but the Braves won't have enough manpower to overcome the forces hinted at in Prediction #3
