Mid-majors have to get the kids who have the tools and develop them, we don't have the luxury of lining up the 4-Star guys and 30 ppg scorers..
-Ryan Stipanovich has the tools, he leads a better than average team but not strong team in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks...and his opponents include many of the very top schools in the midwest - the last two have BOTH been ranked in the Top 50 nationally (Chaminade & Edwardsville), but they also play Vashon, Christian Bros., St. Louis UHigh & Webster Groves .
-Elijah Childs is the leader on the #2 ranked team in the entire state and they've lost to only one other team..
When's the last time we landed the best kid from the top 1 or 2 teams in any state?
-the other kid we've been pretty strongly connected to is a high scoring kid that's got offers from 3 different Top 25 teams but seems interested in Bradley and putting up 20+ against top notch national caliber prep school opponents.
scout.com ranks both Ryan & Elijah in the Top 6 players in Missouri for 2017
Rivals allows you to sort more precisely and actually has Elijah Childs ranked #1 and Ryan Stipanovich ranked #2 believe it or not

Adjustments have been made ...people wanted a shorter rotation and that happened, JH and DB have been playing more together, many times we have went with DT at the 5 spot....
It's a JV team guys..2 years of recruits with the first year recruits that really nobody else wanted.....for a reason.......we have endured many years of bad basketball though so I understand why the patience is thin

So what is the real problem then? Just take a look at the Indiana State games, Greg Lansing grossly out-coached Wardle, and the Sycamores stole that game in our house. Wardle's bench coaching is no better than Geno Ford (maybe not as good). I would be all Chris Reynolds putting his old high school head coach, Chuck Buescher in charge of the program. I could see an all-star staff headed up by AJ Guyton & Daniel Ruffin as lead recruiters. The BU program would be restored in a short order. Would we ever worry about the Braves playing great defensively? Would we be worried about getting out-coached? Would we be worried about getting quality recruits? Chuck's thumb print was all over Jim Les best teams at BU. When Buescher left, Les tanked! I can't speak for Chuck, but my guess is that the BU alum would probably do the job for far less money. Once a Brave, always a Brave. If Reynolds wants to restore the program back to glory, he of all people holds the key! Fire Wardle and hire Chuck Buescher now!
Just my opinion.
For one thing Chuck Buescher would want no part of this job.

Again...everyone talked about a shorter rotation so DLO and Barker were odd men out.....they may play in the first half of some games now but unless they do something special probably won't play in the second half

I would love to have Chuck Buescher, but - he's 72 years old and as I understand - part of why he stepped down as coach and why he declined to do the radio broadcasts is because he wants to be and remain retired and does not want to be travelling all over the place
**when Chuck Buescher retired as basketball assistant at Bradley in May of 2007, he had just helped the Braves
to BACK-TO-BACK 22-win seasons...
How many times since the 1950's has Bradley had that same degree of success -
being able to string together BACK-TO-BACK 22-win seasons?

Answer...
mouse over to read...
The answer is only that one time when Bish retired -
they did it in 2005-06 and then again in 2006-07 under Jim Les and Chuck Buescher...
and it was never accomplished by anyone else at Bradley since the 1958-59 and 1959-60 seasons under Orsborn.

Not positive but I think he also spends the winters in AZ.
He told me a month or so ago he was going to AZ sometime after the first of the year....I was thinking for a month but not positive....

I'm sure that CR is not even close to making a change. We will see in a couple years.
I don't see CB taking over but Eric maybe ? I like the staff you put together in the rant lol let's add Jeremy Crouch. Cellus maybe? I'm believeing in Wardle and trust him for Atleast two more years to show improvement, lose out pathetically and repeat next season and that's a rap IMO. Also IMO that doesn't happen. I think we finish strong this season. Add /bring in at least 5 new guys. We will be much improved next season. 18 -19 we will finish top 3 after that let's win some championships.
