PJ Star is reporting that Alex Foster did not practice today and is "probably out" for Wednesday's game at SIU due to concussion symptoms. He did not dress for the last game at home against Wichita State.

Darrell Brown is also described as "day to day" after spraining his ankle in the Wichita State game.

Reminder regarding this Saturday's home game against Drake-
The season tickets were printed with 2 different start times on them- 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
But the correct start time for this game Saturday vs. Drake is 1:00 PM

He's the guy that transferred here from Texas Tech and given a scholarship. Redshirted last season as mandated by the NCAA, but was able to practice the entire season. After practicing last season, this summer, this season and still not be able to get off the bench that is losing games by double digits is beyond me. If he's not good enough to play on this team, why would you waste a scholarship on him?

By the end of this season, Foster wil have used up 2 full years of scholarship, and produced absolutely nothing. If he stays another year, it'll be 3 wasted years.

This is the strongest argument for recruiting an occasional juco player, instead of taking in marginal D1 recruits or transfers. A decent juco player would have helped this team win games the past 2 years, and would lead to an open scholarship this year that the coaches could have had 2 years to plan for and recruit to re-fill.

it's only a waste if there is someone more productive that we missed out on for lack of an open scholarship -
but I don't think that's the case...at the time we landed Foster, we also brought in Davante Cooper, Okafor, Scottie, and they barely helped either...
Unfortunately - for a mid-major that's down and completely rebuilding as we were in 2015 (and still kinda are) - the blue chippers are not exactly lining up waiting for us to get an open scholarship.
I don't like the losses any more than everyone else, but I think Coach gets a pass for a couple years at least

Here's an interesting comment from a couple years ago:
"What dampened my enthusiasm about Geno's recruits was how so
many of them were atypical recruits and how few of them were the standard
4-year high school recruit that is recruited, followed for a while, and then
signed out of high school. We had very few of the standard high school recruits
that every other college coach knows he needs to build around to be
                successful.

Dave Reynolds said it best in his critique of Jim Les back in 2008 during a
stretch of four 20+ win seasons in a row-
                Too Many Jucos for Bradley"

...so why has sentiment changed 180 degrees in that short time (spring 2015 when Coach Wardle was already here bringing in 4-year guys)

Maybe Wardle needs to step aside and let one of the assistants take over like at Drake. He obviously is not getting through to the players.

I think it's a wasted scholarship when your team is bad and you recruit someone that isn't good enough to play.

                              Next Game: Bradley at SIU...

MORE OF THE SAME! A total embarrassment. Our starting lineup of 4 guards (plus Van Bree who was 1 for 12 in our last game) had 0 rebounds and 5 turnovers in the first 5 minutes of the game. Our line-up gets juggled endlessly and we substitute endlessly. Also, what happened to the idea of reducing the rotation? We played 11 people in this game. absolutely NO INSIDE DEFENSE.
