First road win of the season for Drake. Timmer making a case for all Mo Valley 1st team. The Bulldogs looking like the 3rd best team in the Valley, which isn't saying much for the rest of the teams outside of ISU Red and Wichita.Comment

I thought about picking Drake in this game, but I chickened out. It is amazing how well they are playing for Jeff Rutter. They are now 5-4 in the MVC, and sitting in the 3rd seeded position right now.Originally posted by bigjimmy View Post
That was also Drake's first win in Springfield MO since 2001! Even in Drake's great 29-5, 14-3 season of 2007-08, in which they won both the regular season championship and the MVC Tournament Championship, they lost at Missouri State.

One other thing I notice- Drake has already played the tougher part of their schedule.
They are 5-4, and 4-0 at home in the MVC. They are now 1-4 on the road in the MVC, however, their 5 road games have been against the top 5 teams in the MVC Preseason poll.
Their 4 remaining road games are at the 4 lowest ranked teams (other than themselves)- Bradley, Evansville, Indiana State, and Loyola.Comment
