if ISU edges Wichita in the final Valley standings, then I'd have to say McIntosh is the leading candidate for MVC Player of the Year.
He doesn't have the best overall stats, but if you play for a contender, and consistently put up the numbers he does - especially at clutch times - then I think those who vote on Player of the Year will notice.
He and Deontae Hawkins are definitely All-MVC players. But their stats and value to the team are so similar that it might hurt each one's chances at being voted POY.
Jaylon Brown (Evansville), Brenton Scott (Indiana State), and Jeremy Morgan (UNI) seem like other top possibilities, but all three play for teams currently tied for last place, so that will hurt their chances. Loyola's Milton Doyle has emerged as a possibility, too, along with Alize Johnson (MSU), and if Wichita State wins the MVC, then maybe Markis McDuffie will get some votes.
