Eric Gordon at the BU Game

tornado

Since my other comment about this was buried in the 6 page discussion of the game, I wanted to be sure everyone saw this post.

Yes, Eric Gordon was seated right behind the BU bench rooting on the Braves and his personal friend Andrew Warren.
He was sitting as a guest of the Warrens, and was really into the game.

Rumors abounded that he might just reneg on his verbal to Kelvin Sampson and go to BU!!
(not)

Anyway, what a game for EJ to see his buddy play, as Andrew came up huge several times., both offensively and defensively.

Did anyone else notice that over half of the seats in the lower bowl, even the ones right behind the benches and the scorer's table were vacant?
What gives??

Their team is in 1st place, these are seats owned by season ticket holders, there's absolutely NO OTHER sporting event going on in town, and their team is unbeaten at home this year and right in the thick of things, and they have a miserable crowd like this??

I hope to Heaven I never hear another complaint about the crowds BU draws in......It could be 30 below zero and a blizzard, with Savannah State as an opponent, and BU would still draw twice the crowd the Sycamores had tonight.
I really feel sorry for the kids who are treated that way by their own fans.
One of the commentators mentioned maybe it was because of the NFL playoff game, but that game ended as this game began and anyway everyone has video recorders!!
so what gives??

COLTS baby!

If the Patriots go in and beat the Chargers tomorrow, then the Colts will go to Super Bowl XLI, mark it down!

The only way I could ever forgive Eric Gordon is if he somehow decided to play for BU :D. But yes, Indiana State, unfortunately is overshadowed by Purdue and IU, as ISU's campus is 2 hours from PU and about an hour and a half from IU.

Actually, I think Indiana State is only about the 5th most followed team in the state. I would rank it:

Indiana
Purdue
Notre Dame
Butler
Indiana St.
Ball St.
IUPUI
IPFW

Where's E'ville and Valpo :D. Ball State's fan base is terrible, which is partly to the school's lack of success in athletics. BSU is the third-largest state supported school in Indiana.

Oh yeah, I forgot about UE and Valpo.

My new and improved Indiana school fan following rakings are:

Indiana
Purdue
Notre Dame
Butler
Evansville
Indiana St.
Ball St.
Valpo
IUPUI
IPFW

Any debate?

Just tried to do a little recruiting on Eric Gordon, on Gordon's facebook page it says Eric is going to the INDIANA ST. AND BRADLEY GAME!!!!!!!!

So I asked him how he liked the game and told him that we could find a place at Bradley for him if he wanted to play with his bud Andrew Warren.....

I know it could never happen but its nice to dream

I just got home from the big town of Terre Haute. What a game, unless you were an Indiana State fan. The home fans were all over the refs, since they were getting their butts beat and they didn't have anything else to yell for.

But the officials were fair. However, they called the first half very loose, allowed a lot of contact, and called only about 3 fouls on either team all half. But the second half they called totally different. A lot of touch fouls. Both teams were in the double bonus with a lot of time to go. But IMO they called things evenly.

The crowd was disappointing. And there was a women's game a little earlier. But that didn't seem to help the attendance.
Attendance was listed as 5,171, but there were several hundred little kids and their families there in some kind of biddy basketball, free ticket promotion. I think all those feeebies were included in the attendance.

I sat right behind Eric Gordon. He is friends with Andrew Warren and with Cole Holmstrom of Indiana State. He had a good time and was cheering for Andrew when he was in the game.

And, no the Bradley band was not at the game. But I also noticed that the Indiana State band played many of the same songs the Bradley band does. Is there some kind of required songbook all basketball bands must play?

I talked to Eric Gordon at halftime. Heck of a nice kid. It's unfortunate what happened with him and the Illini. Talking to him and seeing what kind of a kid he is, I wonder how much influence his parents really did have. He doesn't seem like a kid that's full of himself or anything as he is sometimes portrayed.
