Why do we have to listen to Dave and Chad make excuses for this team.I understand Dave is an employee but listening to him and Chad "drinking the koolaid" is getting old.

On the post-game show, Coach admits we made too many turnovers, and Indiana State "shot the lights out".
For the record: Indiana State was 23-52 (43.4%) Bradley was 21-52 (39.6%)
3-point shooting: Indiana State 14-32 (43.8%) Bradley was 9-18 (50%)
Free throws: Indiana State 21-27 (77.8%) Bradley 20-24 (83.3%)
So shooting stats do not appear to be the reason Bradley trailed by 10-20 points the entire game.

Rebounds
Indiana State 34 Bradley 36
It appeared that Bradley's brief full court pressure midway in the 2nd half made a big difference and lead to the gap closing to 8 points with 7 minutes left. But then we stopped pressing, and the lead blossomed back to nearly 20 points and the game was over.
Playing only 6 players in the 2nd half appeared to lead to the players getting tired.Comment

turnovers and the failure to defend the 3-pt shot in the first half (they shot 11-20)....
from there it becomes impossible for such a young team to pull out of a 20-pt hole, especially as turnover prone as we are..

Until the sophomore class graduates, we will continue to see the same mistakes. That is why this season, next season and maybe even the season after that, we will be on a roller coaster ride. It's part of the rebuilding process. The mistakes being made, are not coaching mistakes, they are basic fundamental and instinct mistakes. It is difficult, if not impossible to coach instincts. I think the stats pretty much tell the story, especially in shooting. They shoot almost twice as many 3's as we do, make 5 more 3's than we do (15 pts) and win by 10. Everything else except the 6 more turnovers for us, are pretty much equal.Originally posted by Da Coach View PostComment

I know coaches get blamed for playing guys that don't do much on the stat sheet but they keep the offense going without turnovers and be where they are suppose to be defensively which helps the team overall......obviously you have to score...but you lose chances with turnoversComment

We're going to continue on this roller coaster ride far at least another year and maybe another after that. Last year Wardle gave 8 scholarships, almost 75% of the ones allowed per team, to his freshman class. He didn't have much choice due to the number of players that left when he was hired. His only other option was to go with more walk-ons his first year, to save scholarships, knowing they were going to lose anyway. Almost half of the players he brought in on scholarship his first season have already left. He appears to have recruited a pretty good freshman class this year. Most of the mistakes being made this year are by the same players that made the same mistakes a year ago. Most of those mistakes are due to fundamentals and natural instincts. You don't coach natural instincts and poor fundamentals are difficult, if not impossible, to get rid of at this level. There is a reason we have three freshmen now logging significant playing time over second year players.Comment

This team should be beyond this by now. I'm so frustrated in our inability to have consistent play from one game to the next. But the only thing we seem to be consistent with are turnovers and leaving three point shooters wide open. And I'm going to keep saying this. Don't know why Suggs and Foster don't play. Unless Wardle already knows that they are leaving there's just no reason to not play them. Foster at least has a presence down low and Suggs showed some ability last year. Why not give them a shot. Need to play a lot better if we expect to beat Illinois State.Comment

Even if Suggs and Foster are not returning next year I don't understand why they don't get an opportunity to contribute. It is frustrating seeing them sitting on the bench when five of the ten guys that did play scored a total of 9 points and had 10 turn overs.Comment
