they have a somewhat similar player - a wing guy who is a blend of undersized forward plus guard, named John Konchar
He's a sophomore so he'd be there two more years...but as you look at the guy's numbers, you gotta wonder why he wasn't more highly recruited back in 2014 out of the Chicago area.
Maybe because he played forward in HS at 6-5, but he barely got any offers except IPFW and Chicago State!!
In high school he AVERAGED 29 ppg, 14 rpg (kinda like Taylor?), now as a sophomore at IPFW he averages 15 ppg, 9 rpg and hits 52% (!!) from 3-pt (45-87) and hits 64% overall.
Perhaps this is the kind of player they hope Taylor can be after a year redshirting and getting stronger.
ISU offer is now a straight four with no redshirt. Chatted with Coach Muller and UNI assistant Kyle Green during much of Taylor's baseball game yesterday. Really nice chaps. Be interesting to see where the Illinois thing goes.
I suspected that would happen once they confirmed publicly what they knew for a while that McIntosh wasn't returning. That is a good deal for TB. But it will be interesting to see if he is attracted by Illinois' offer.
Here's another kid...Tyler Hall, from Rock Island... - 6-4 sophomore
(putting up 23 points per game for Montana State!! Averaged 19.2 ppg last year as a freshman there.)
virtually nobody recruited the kid despite him being a great 3-pt shooter and scorer..
Geno never even looked at the kid...he signed with MSU in fall of 2014
but he's the premier 3-pt shooter in all of Division I currently and has already scored 1195 points in his college career and he's not even done with his sophomore campaign! https://twitter.com/SkylineSportsMT/...32619562881024
Tyler Hall is another local Illinois kid we completely whiffed on back in 2013, 2014...and our recruiting staff never gave him a sniff now he's being talked about as a possible NBA Draft Pick!
