Yeah Wiley, I can agree with the number but my preference, if possible, would be a 4/5 position player.

Taylor Bruninga received a scholarship offer from Dan Muller and Illinois State. He was at the ISU game last night.

Is Taylor related to the Duane Bruninga that played at Limestone years ago?

Don't know for sure, but since I have some in-law Bruningas I have heard that all Central IL Bruningas are all distantly related - Rudolf Bruninga and son Bruno arrived to settle & farm in 1840s and lots of their descendants, children neices, nephews are still in the region.
If anyone knows otherwise - feel free...

          anyway...looking at the ISU situation..

          They currently have:
3 scholarship seniors: Lee, Hawkins, Wills - all are gone in 2017
3 scholarship juniors: McIntosh, Clayton, Yarbrough
4 scholarship sophomores: Evans, Fayne, Romine, N'Diaye
3 scholarship freshmen: Hein, Williams, Washington
2 signees already for 2017: Clarance, Tinsley

so they have 12 scholarships already committed for 2017 - apparently only one left..
and they also have offers out (per various recruiting services) for at least 5 or 6 2017 kids (Bruninga, Payton, Copeland, then Stefanovic, Jackson per Rivals, and Adaway per scout.com)

...so wonder if Bruninga will pull the trigger and take the offer before it's gone or will he wait til the feeding frenzy heats up in the spring and bigger offers come along?

I agree with you. I would also offer Bruninga a scholarship. He is a pure shooter, something we don't have.

Yes he is related to Duane. His grandfather is Ken whose brother is Duane. Great family and if my memory serves me correctly Duane is an ISU grad who played for them in the mid 60's. He graduated from Limestone in '63. Would love BU to boot someone else and offer Taylor.

I don't care who you are playing against size, mobility, skill all transfer to D1 level.

if Taylor is still getting DII offers, is it because some of the DI interest still wants him to redshirt a year?

I can see it all playing out. He will go to ISU, never be a starter, but play key minutes off the bench, hitting big baskets during his career. He will get his degree and have an opportunity to play in multiple post season tournaments. Meanwhile, there will be Bradley fans saying..."I told you he couldn't start at ISU". All the while Bradley is banging around anywhere from 6th to 10th place in the league.

I have not seen him play but from what have read and heard it seems like he would fit their system pretty well

Yes he would fit their system perfectly but would rather see him in ours.

Creighton, Rice, and Drake will be into to see him on Friday. He is going to Vanderbilt for their game on Saturday.

                            Got to recruit him first.

Not to sound negative....but in the past few months seems like we've seen reports of at least 20-30 schools/coaching staffs that have come "to see" or watch Taylor Bruninga.
Every week it's another 2, 3 or 4 coming in to see him..including just about every one of the MVC schools.

Is there a reason the vast majority are not offering him a scholarships.
                              At first it was ..
"they were going on word of mouth and using other observers' evaluations and that once he got his first DI offer, many others would follow".

But now that dozens of different schools have had a really good chance to evaluate, most of them leave and do not offer.

Certainly he has had inquiries from many schools, and that will only continue. At this point only WIU, EIU, SIU-E, UNI, ISU Red, ISU Blue, Loyola, UIC, Wright St., and Valpo have been to see him in person. I'm not going to list the D-2 and D-3's who have been around. That is 10 schools, not 20 or 30. Three of the 10 have offered. Four MVC schools have been to see him in person, not "every one."
