Loyola has 4 players averaging between 13.3 ppg and 14.4 ppg. They don't get much off their bench. Their top bench player averages just 4.3 ppg.
They average 77.5 ppg- 2nd to Wichita State, compared with Bradley's 67.1 ppg (9th in the MVC). And they are, by far the top field goal percentage shooting team at 51.2%, while no other team in the MVC shoots better than 46.6% (Bradley shoots 43.3%).

Boy is this ever going to be a test. I think we're up to it.
We wanted a good start and we got one last game . Let's do it again and get a trend of good starts goin.
Now we want the turnovers cleaned up and dominate the boards.

Porters got 4 studs. It's going to take our best game and then things to go our way. With it being Loyola should be a good draw. Saturday night. Prime time hopefully the students are back and really come out. Hoping it's tops last game.

PS , Luuk needs to get some early cutting midrange shots in and then work his way out to the 3. I feel like he's got a real hot streak comin . Luuuuuuuuuuuk

not that I think we have a chance at an at-large bid, but....a win over Loyola could push our RPI into the upper half of the MVC - we are within about 20 spots in RPI from passing Indiana State, SIU, Loyola, UNI and Missouri State and our win over Evansville boosted us 25 points this week

My season opinion in general.

Overall grade based on my expectations: B

Negatives:

-Bad loss at home vs. Delaware
-Nevada, TCU, and Ole Miss ...just hope for closer game
-Losing by 34 to an unranked Wichita team (we can keep them within 20...I think it was a fluke)

Undecided:

-Suggs, DLO, Luuk, Donte, Antoine, Barker all taking backseats to JoJo, DB5, Bar, and Nate

Maybe this is a good thing?

Positives:

-Beating Eastern on road...they don't seem that bad

- 2-1 in valley. and UE game
-Southern game 12/29 was most fun I've had at a game in a long time.


Dilemma:

I still can't trust this team. I feel like they are capable of handling Evansville on road by 10 points .... but then going like 30% from field 13% from 3 and getting blown out by really anybody home or away.

I hope for more UE performances and not Delaware performances.

Either way I'll still try to be overly optimistic regardless.

Ya we kinda got away from that even after made free throws. I wanted it a few times in the aces game. I'm assuming we figured the guards would run layup drills on us . .

The game opened with Loyola a 2 point favorite, and they are now 5 point favorites. Most of the money is on Loyola.

Loyola has far more experience than Bradley - 5 freshmen (2 are walkons), only one sophomore (Custer is a redshirt soph), 9 juniors ( one's a walkon and a couple are 4th year juniors), and 2 seniors (their career scoring leader Doyle is a 5th year & then one walkon)
Four are DI transfers and four are juco transfers

But despite the experience they still rely quite heavily on just five guys (Jackson, Doyle, Richardson, Ingram & Custer) and nobody else on the entire 17-man roster takes many shots, scores much nor rebounds much.

Bradley has 6 freshmen, 6 sophomores and 3 juniors - one is a DI transfer and none ever played a minute of juco ball...but we have a little more evenly distributed production among our top 9-10 guys
