Foster finished off a dump off. I believe he's the only big to finish off a d-lo dump off.
    Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

Nothing good I can say, except maybe the 14 points by Darrel Brown. Final score 66-49, but the game was not as close as the score indicates.

      stats-

31% shooting overall, 41.2% on threes, 26.8% on 2-point shots, and 17 turnovers. Just a horrible game plan, IMO, to try to continuously attack their zone with ineffective dribble-penetration and lazy telegraphed passes, when it was never going to work and when the only moderately successful part of our game was the 3-point shot. We only attempted 8 threes in the 2nd half despite trailing by 20+ nearly the entire 2nd half.

Ronnie Suggs the only scholarship player who did not play.

Suggs and Foster were at the table with a little over the 1 minute mark but the clock keep running and they were called back.

I've been a big proponent of seeing the bigger picture, trusting the process but games like this really test that philosophy. Not too sure what our offense was and our defense was fortunate Ole Miss had a bad shooting night. Need to regroup and have a better effort against TCU.

How have things changed? Last night we score 49 points. On this date 50 years ago, without a shot clock or 3 point field goals, Joe Allen (25), Al Smith (23) and L.C. Bowen (20), score 68 points among them to beat Oklahoma. Those three players scored 19 points more than the entire Bradley team last night.

Well....I would rather have those 3 guys than a shot clock and 3 pt line....of course that might not happen now since they are pushing 70

I don't claim to be a DI coach but we sure did do an awful lot of head-down dribble-drive against zone & double-team - and incidentally, it was very unsuccessful.

We need to pass better and smarter and not just whip wild passes to areas players might be but not always are...
We also toss an awful lot of horrible, soft lob passes that get stolen or deflected.

once again- 2nd consecutive game, we shoot under 55% on FT's
Still a long way to go --

Drake is bad, they're just 1-10 and haven't beaten a DI opponent yet, but still...
they are scoring better than us & shoot 75% on FTs, don't count on a couple MVC wins against them if we play like we have the past two games.

You are talking grade school and high school fundamentals. You shouldn't have to teach those to DI talent.

I can pretty much guarantee they all shot at least 70% on free throws and 50% or better from the floor. I believe Allen shot around 65% from the floor. Not bad for a guy with one leg and couldn't jump. It's called fundamentals! Something we really lack.

precisely- when I used to coach my grade school & middle school kids' teams, I accepted that sometimes they took bad shots, plenty of times they missed good shots, and they tended to learn simple things slowly...
but the 2 or 3 things that always frustrated the most were the tendency to NOT see the defense and throw bad passed right into the defense, silly, mindless turnovers that happened again and again and the kids simply wouldn't learn....then finally the tendency to launch free throws as if it was the ball's job to find its way to the hoop - instead of relaxing, taking your time, and using all the proper fundamentals to shoot the FT. I doubt I have ever even coached a 3rd, 4th or 5th grade game where the kids didn't at least shoot 50-60% from the FT line - no excuse to be consistently hitting that bad.

I gotta believe the staff is doing all they can to improve in all those areas....it just seems like we can't get 5 guys to figure it out at the same time..

If someone drives and makes a good pass we blow the layup.....

I'm not giving up on BU.....but my enthusiasm isn't the same as it was years ago.....

If you're spending time on those areas, at this level, you've got the wrong players. These are things you see when you evaluate and watch video on players.

I totally second your whole post. I still believe in our staff but my enthusiasm is far from where it was since the Mo era and light years from the Ozzie era. I think it will not change until we have more than two defections. Coach can't be to blamed for all the Soph's because he had so many spots to fill and so little time. I think we all have to agree this yrs. Frosh have a lot more potential than the Soph's and I certainly thought our Jr. would finally make the D1 step but ........ I think we need about 4 Soph's to move on and bring in 1 or 2 GOOD JC's . We cant continue to bring in all Freshmen every year until we are contending and we are a long way from that. Then when our classes are about equal in numbers and we are contending than lets bring in all Freshmen like UNI does. An occasional JC to fill a spot would be okay every once in a while. We have a long way to go but I'll still be pulling for the Braves.
