  • How many remember "Yajusneverno"?

Because the title was inspired by Coach Stowell's phrase, "Well, ya just never know" and he's about to turn 90

Because 2016 is the 30th anniversary of its recording

Because the Braves are climbing back up that mountaintop, and

Because I still have a "record player"

Here's a Thursday Throwback. Keep working hard, Braves, and "Yajusneverno!"

Released in 1986, "Yajusneverno" celebrates the success of the Bradley Braves' 32-3 college basketball season. Composed by Tom Dermody and sung by Doug Chamb...

I thought about making one of them a prize for one of our past pick-em contests, but they seem to be pretty rare.
So I wonder if BU Songwriter has any extra copies?

I still have the red tee shirt with the brave image sliding down the wording towards a basket hoop. I guess the wonder is that it still fits.

I probably wore my parents record out listening to that!!

I wonder if they still have it.

Would love to get a copy somehow.

OK call me nostalgic, but I think we ought to BRING BACK some of our past tradition!

                - update and release the Yasjusneverno! or something similar
                - do a sequel to the MVC Shuffle video - LINK
                - re-instate the PRESEASON and POSTSEASON banquets! - LINK
-pick a game and do a RED-OUT, a WHITE-OUT, or a BLACK-OUT - maybe bring bck the alternate Black Jerseys
                - Tailgating events in the fall at the BU soccer games - you'd also get more fans out to stay & attend the soccer games - use this opportunity each fall to let the fans come & see & meet the NEW players
-the community events, the photo trading cards, pocket schedules, and OPEN PRACTICES!
                - Get Hersey & Jim Les to come back here!!

                here's a few more ideas

                  Mp3

Could the 45rpm version of Yajusneverno be converted to an mp3, so we could share/hear the file??

One of the local TV channels did a special after the 32-3 season with video clips and the yajusneverno song. I think we recorded it on VHS, I'll have to dig for it....

It's possible it might be on Youtube.

Here is a special from 1988-
"A Tale of 7 Seniors" 1988 WMBD special hosted by Dave Snell chronicling the 1987-1988 Bradley Braves Men's Basketball team led by Hersey Hawkins. Segment ...

Here are a bunch more Bradley videos if anyone knows what title to search for-

I've transferred the Yajesneverno TV special from VHS to DVD for several fans over the years who still had/have it in their collection, along with the games they had from that era. Not sure it ever made it to Youtube.
